What is the fifth term of the expansion of (a + b)^8?

I get how to do everything up to the point where you need to find the coefficient. Somehow I missed this in my 13+ years of mathematical training, and I can't find an internet source that adequately explains how to solve this for the coefficient! Please help! Thank you! I'll pick a best answer TODAY!!!!!

Could any one help me. I have been told a few times I have a gift because I have seen ghosts and the only place I've lived has had a ghost in it except the one I'm in now. (I've lived here nearly a year.)
I can also sense if a house is haunted.
If I do have a gift I would love to learn how to use it. I may have been given it for a reason.

I have a Diesel generator using leroy sommers alternator and which uses intelilite MRS 11 controller , it is 380 V , 50 Hz , yesterday i started having problems , after running the genset for like 12 seconds it shuts down and i get two error msgs the first one is : Shutdown Level for Phase 1 under volts
the second error msg is : Shutdown Level for Gen voltage Unbalance .
in the first 12 seconds the voltage on 3 phases got no problem and after 12 seconds the generator auto shuts down and i cannot seem the find the problem , any help will be appreciated

We have got a lot still to accomplish technologically, I think at least another 70 to 150 years before we can travel to the nearest star, what do you guys think, am I being optimistic?

I have a machine pulling a weight, attached by a rubber band, up an incline that has a slowly varying slope. I know the position of the machine well (about 0.1%), but the rubber band introduces a great deal of positional uncertainty. I want to know the position of the weight at any time T. Fortunately, I have accelerometers attached to the weight.

Is a Kalman filter suitable for this task?
1) My accelerometer measurements are simply observations, not controller inputs
2) The mean of my position error is most likely _not_ zero (the weight will typically lag the machine position)
3) How can I eliminate the gravity component of the acceleration so that I can use it in the model (note that the slope of the incline varies, albeit slowly)?
4) I have no way to know or model the frictional forces. I can only sense the effect through the accelerations.
5) In some cases the weight comes to an abrupt halt with subsequent stretch in the rubber band followed by rapid acceleration

1. Consider the expression
(x^2)/9 + (y^2)/4 = 1

whose graph is an ellipse. We wish to find the slopes of the tangent lines to the graph of this ellipse at the point x = 1.

a) Solve the above expression for the variable y. How many solutions do you obtain? Graph each of these solutions separately. What do you notice when these graphs are viewed together on the same set of coordinate axes?
b) While the ellipse itself is not the graph of a function (why?), each of the solutions for y you obtained in (a) does represent a function (why?). In order to obtain an answer to our original question regarding the slopes of the tangent lines at x = 1, describe what you would do with the functions obtained in (a), and carry out this operation.
