A car in motion is subject to anumber of forces. In particular, it usually experiences a motive force. I also experiences a drag force which is due to the effect of both friction and air drag.

Suggest why as the speed of the car is increased, the maximum motive force increases to a maximum at about 30ms^-1(for this car model) and then decreases after that speed.

Is interpretative dancing to the Golden Ratio a good Geometry project idea?

Our group project is to report about the implications of the Golden Ratio in engineering and architecture.

I'm thinking of making an interpretative dance about the golden ratio. Bodies as buildings and music as math.

Do you think this is a good idea or should I stick to conventional wisdom?

I do want to D3fy the project (D3 is Definetly Defy Definition)

I don't know how to type equations out, like squared, etc. So bare with me. You should be able to see what i am getting at.

1) x - 2y = 11
x + 2y = -13 Answer x=-1, y=-6

2) x(squared) + 6 - 40 = 0
answer x=-10 and 4

I am just asking what they are called. Thanks.

The Olympic logo symbolizes the "5" main continents (as taught in Europe). Why do you suppose that Europeans see Europe and Asia as two continents, but N. and S. America as one? Granted, the Americas are joined by the isthmus of Panama. But there is no such division in Eurasia.

It would seem to me that the Ural mountains are a much less defined continental division that a very narrow strip of land dividing two very large and distinctly defined land masses.

All the time there are motives, even if they go unnoticed, in science. Whether it be pride, money, or stubbornness there is always something to distract scientists from giving a 100% unbiased analysis.
-What can we do to keep this from happening?
-Will science ALWAYS be affected in someway by human error like this?
-What do YOU think will happen if we continue to be motivated by the idea of conforming?
(Scientists conform alot because, like religion, disbelief in anything that is 'universally accepted' as fact is comparable to heresy)

With powerful telescopes we zoom past the first galaxies, to a time everything was heavily concentrated in the small existing volume. And we keep on going, but without telescopes. In our minds, we try to piece the puzzle together, We reach likely conclusions, such that the universe now springs from an infinitesimal point. Zero.

But let's say we keep peering back in time. We cross the milli, the micro, the nano. Always getting closer, we approach the pico, the femto, the atto. Much nearer that infinitesimal, sizeless instance we move past the zepto and the yocto.

And we keep going, in this fashion. Always getting closer to "zero"...but, maybe, without ever getting there. As if traversing a logarithmic function - time on the x axis; the order of magnitude of volume, if you will, on the y

Can we conclude this first instant ISN'T undefined, like log(0)? That, while we can keep approaching the instant when the universe was infinitesimal...we can never actually reach such a "zero" point?
