Temperatures are different in London because it has an urban heat island which increases the heat surrounding the city. This is because of the pollution levels which trap heat for longer than clean air; concrete which absorbs less heat than vegetation thus reflecting most into the atmosphere again; high rise buildings sheltering from the cooling effects of wind; and the high concentration of human activity which gives off heat.

I've always assumed besides the smog and heat retaining properties of buildings that the reason londond and all major cities are warmer than the places surounding them could do to do with the heat us humans produce, our fridgest produce heat, our cars do as do our computers boilers and pretty much everyother thing we use

I think this is where the main part of our global warming comes from, not greenhouse gasses like so many claim

I mean all this excess heat we produce would not naturally be found in nature so it has to have an effect

London is always a degree or so warmer than most other places in the UK because of its high density of buildings!
