you see, it's been raining A LOT where i'm at all of a sudden. for like three weeks straight it's been nothing but clouds, rain, and potential rain. so there's been like a lot of frogs, and mosquitos, flies, crickets, and stuff like that around.
but, just earlier my brother found the strangest and scariest looking thing in our pool. it almost looks like a cocroach, except that it's a lot bigger, green with small black spots, and these creepy pinser-looking things on it's head that almost look like antennas except that they're bent so that it looks like it could pinch something really bad. it's body is oval-shaped and plain and simple it is the scariest thing i have ever seen. i honestly have never seen anything like it. anyone know what it might be??? ...please???

I was driving on the highway in a storm on a bridge yesterday and above my car I heard a crash and saw a flash of light all around me, simultaneously. a minute or two later my right arm started to tingle, this feeling traveled to my left arm down through my body, and then to my legs, there was nowhere to pull over, so I tried to concentrate on staying on the road. I knew I was experiencing some kind of electricity and I thought at the time my car had been struck. The heat and "burning" over my body got worse and I forced myself to raise my feet from the floor of the car and let go of the wheel. After this the semi-paralysis ebbed, but I still had limited mobility in my limbs. I shook for the next hour and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. I had no entrance or exit wounds, my car has no damage. my passenger side window was down about five inches through the whole event. What happened? If I was not struck why was I did I feel electricity go through me to such a degree?

I just rediscovered a java program I wrote a long time ago that will quickly show you prime numbers within a selected range of numbers. For example, find all prime numbers between

800000000000001

and

800000000001001

and I discover all of these are prime:

800000000000017
800000000000039
800000000000053
800000000000057
800000000000137
800000000000167
800000000000183
800000000000221
800000000000263
800000000000321
800000000000363
800000000000371
800000000000381
800000000000407
800000000000413
800000000000417
800000000000437
800000000000491
800000000000533
800000000000611
800000000000627
800000000000653

800000000000807
800000000000911
800000000000951

And just for fun, my program took a while to compute this, but this is also prime...

3,011,992,887,555,100,289 (that's three quintillion, hahaha)

I'm a freshman in college - need help answering another one of these "challenge questions"

The classic experiment by Pasteur tested the hypothesis that cells arise from other cells. In this experiment cell growth was measured following sterilization of broth in a swan-neck flask or in a flash with a broken neck:

a. Which variables were kept the same in these two experiments?

b. How does the shape of the flask affect the experiment?

c. Predict the outcome of each experiment based on the two hypotheses.

D. Some bacteria (germs) are capable of producing heat-resistant spores that protect the cell and allow it to continue to grow after the environment cools. How would the outcome of this experiment have been affected if spore-forming bacteria were present in the broth?

Appreciate the help - thanks!
