I read that they have allocated 1 billion dollars over the next ten years. The Russians are proposing a 20 billion dollar manned trip to mars. Could'nt we use that money for education and taking care of human beings here on earth? Maybe re- forestation.

Then I remembered that the night before, my mom had given me a vicodin for back pain, i've been having. It helped a little and allowed me to sleep okay.

I've never really taken Vicodin before.........But I was wondering....How long will it show up in my system??? I only took One about 9pm on Monday and tested today, Tuesday at 12 noon.

Will it come out positive ????

find a third degree polynomial with real coefficients and with zeros 1 and -4+i
the answer given is z^3+7z^2+9z-17

I need the formula to work this problem and then I think I am mostly getting hung up on how to multiply the last part of the problem...I used this formula that someone gave me z-z1*z-z2*z-z3

here is what I did:
(z-1) (z-(-4+i)) (z-(-4-i))
(z-1) (z+4-i) (z+4+i)
(z-1) (z+4)^2 +1
(z-1) (z^2+8z+16+1)
(z-1) (z^2+8z+17)
is this right so far?? if it is then this is where I start having problems, if not then what am I doing wrong??

I have been trying to figure it out all day and I just can't. I have emailed a math tutor, I'm still waiting on his response. My professor is going to be conducting an online chat tonight at 10:30 and I plan on being there for that, so don't tell me to do my own homework because I'm trying, I just don't get it! Here's the problem:
I am creating a chart to show a company's revenue. The formula is
Total Costs=Variable Costs + Fixed Costs
C(x)=mx+y
where x represents the number of items produced, m represents the cost to produce each item, and y represents the fixed costs.
These are the graphs I have to create:
Quadratic
Polynomial
Rational
Exponential and
Logarithm.
I could figure out the graphs using Excel but I need the equations. Please don't try to explain it to me using a bunch of math lingo and mumbo jumbo because I don't understand it at all. Just give me the equations.
