Hi, can anyone help? I know how a soild aluminium extrusion is made(Using high hydraulic pressure and a die) but how is a hole produced in the extrusion over a long length with an accurate size? I would have thought this is difficult to describe so please if possible could you include links to pictures to help me understand a bit more.

At the moment of Big Bang everything in our Universe came into being within time and space, if so then there must be a position in the universe where it all started as the galaxies within our universe are not in the same position as they were at T+1 ie the moment after singularity

There were 114 tins in three cartons, P, Q and R altogether. If the shopkeeper moves 25 tins from P to Q, then 18 tins from Q and R, and finally 30 tins from R to P, there will be an equal number of tins in each carton. How many tins were there in each of the carton at first?

Please show working... Thx

Danish and George each have some Pokemon cards. If Danish gives 24 cards to George, both of them will have the same number of cards. If George gives 15 cards to Danish, the number of cards that Danish has to the number of cards George has will be in the ratio 7:1. How many Pokemon cards does each boy have?

If there's a hole straight through the earth, from the south pole to the north pole, and you jump through it what would happen? would you keep falling forever, or fall back down when you get to the middle, or is it physically impossible?

Could the existence of Dark Matter and Dark Energy be proof that our Universe has 2 sides? One side is the observable Universe and the Other a dark or inverse opposite Universe which is unobservable. Each side would be seperated by a Membrane that is punctured whenever Black Holes feed.

I understand the twins paradox, that if you take two twins, put one in a very very fast space ship and leave the other on Earth, the one on Earth ages faster relative to the one on the ship. So, after traveling near the speed of light for a couple of years, when the one twin comes back to Earth he'll actually "be" younger than his twin. Well my question is what happens at absolute rest, if instead of traveling near the speed of light we travel near the speed of zero? Or is this absolute zero, like the absolute zero for temperature, impossible to achieve? Is it impossible to judge were absolute zero is in velocity; no reference point in the universe to judge zero from? But if we could make a spaceship that could compensate for all velocities, i.e., orbiting the Earth, Sun, center of the Milky Way, traveling through Milky Way, etc., would it "age" infinitely fast? So just a split second of absolute rest would be an eternity?

I found them today in one of my gardens. They are approx. 1\4 inch in length. The seem to hang out several together as well as individuals on their own. They are mostly at the tops of my plants (rudbeckia, phlox, astible, bee balm) so they don't seem to be attracted to a particular plant. My local garden centre couldn't help out and I've looked in all my gardening books as well as online, but no luck. I don't know if they are beneficial or not. Can you help my identify these critters?
Sincerely,
Kay

Can you think of any other way we could understand, and manipulate our knowledge of, physics besides quantifying things?

An example I have in my head is, imagine if we wanted to put a satellite into orbit. How else could we figure out how to do this besides quantifying mass, speed, distance, etc. and knowing the mathematical relationships between these things?

You might be tempted to say something like trial and error, but that does not give us any understanding of physics.

I saw a documentary tonight that was explaining how an atom can be shown to be in different places at the same time

The scientist was demonstrating this using laser beams and a device that reflected or split the beam.

Can you explain?

When is it a new day and when is it night?

ok i was thinking. .

midnight starts at 12 00

so if "mid" night started at 12 00

would night begin at 6 00 PM and end at 5 59 AM?

and would day begin at 6 AM and end at 5 59 PM?

and since 12 01 is technically a new day would the day start off as night?

me and my friend were arguing whether this is true or not. .
