I am pro green and stuff, but how does an organic item (ie food, clothes, etc.) help the enviroment comparted to non-organic items?

it decomposes and go back into the earth were it make the soil richer

no pesticides are used etc..so less impact on animals in the immediate area.

if like in the case of the larger farm fields..you're not spraying from a plane, thus fossils fuels are not being burned etc..
the effect (either way) cascades out from the simple fact that you are taking something pure, whole and unmodified from the earth.

One of the most inmportant ways is organics are grown without using pesticides and other such dangerous chemicals.
