No breathing means inhaling, and air goes down towards lungs. When lungs squeezes, the air is pushed up against gravity.
Try blowing a ballon, and you will witness the same phenomenun, irrespective of balloon opening direction.

Does not have anything to do with having trouble to breathe against gravity. Thats why out noce is downwards not upwards..

Your diaphram & chest muscles counteract the effects of gravity and allow your lungs to fill with air.

there is a partial difference between the pressure in the atmosphere and the pressure in one's lungs(in it's smaller units: the alveols) which causes constant flow of air. oxygen goes in, and out with the CO2
