Hi, can anyone help? I know how a soild aluminium extrusion is made(Using high hydraulic pressure and a die) but how is a hole produced in the extrusion over a long length with an accurate size? I would have thought this is difficult to describe so please if possible could you include links to pictures to help me understand a bit more.

The same extrusion press but using a die and a mandrel. The mandrel defines the ID of the hollow.

Look in any good book on manufacturing technology and you will get enough illustrations etc.

the sheet aluminium is folded together and the seam is sealed with a seam welder as it is made
