If the universe currantly assumed to be 13.7 billion years old.
and galaxies have just been discovered 13.2b light years away.

If this is the case," the big bang "(start of the universe) must have been alot longer than, 13.7billion years ago.
since matter suposenly cant travel faster than light, the matter exploded would take at least 13.2b years to reach its target, and development of the galaxy would add more time, then the light to get back here? It doesnt make sense. Maybe you can enlighten me?

Last night I was sat on sofa at approx 9.30 and out the window facing west I could see light that I thought was a star but wasn't sure if it was a star or a plane. Roughly 20 minutes ater it had moved down and right, so I assumed as it must have been a plane, but I saw it again tonight at 9.20.
Is it a star or a plane?

We recently took our 20 month old son on a backpacking trip into the high country of Yosemite National Park. We carried him in one of those baby toting back packs, while the rest of us carried all the other gear. While trekking, each of our adult companions suffered scores of mosquito bites. My sister in-law alone received over 100 bites and had an allergic reaction. We all wore the same bug repellent; my son included.

My son didn’t get bitten once, not once. He is still being breast feed, could this be the reason he wasn’t bitten? Why else would he not be bitten?

many plants are adapted by nature so that their seeds are dispersed over a great distance. for some plants the seeds are scattered when birds and other animal eat the fruit. because many types of seeds are protected by a coating that is not easily digested, system unharmed. the seeds can be dispersed anywhere the animal travels. other types of plants produce fruit that is covered with sharp barbs that make the fruit difficult, if not impossible, to eat. in these plants the barbs attach themselves to an animal's fur. the animal disperse the seeds as it rubs against the ground or a tree in an effort to get rid of the unwanted hitchhikers.

which of the following factors is most related to the ability of an animal to disperse the seeds of a mulberry tree over a great distance?
1. the speed of the animal while running
2. whether the animal
3. the types of predators that hunt the animal
4. whether the animal migrates in winter
5. the size of the animal

OK, so a permanent magnet creates a force caused by the subatomic and quantum effects of the electromagnetic 'wavicles' in it, this much I get. BUT, if I fix my magnet under a shelf and put something magnetic or ferrous under it, it will at some point lift the item by attraction.
I also get that, once the item is held in place, there is no more use of energy, as if the item was on top of the shelf, but there has been an increase in the potential energy of the item as it was lifted.
SO, where did that energy come from? If it comes 'from' the magnetic field, what 'lost' energy to balance the increase as the field remains constant and, if I continue to remove items and get them lifted again, (notionally forever) what would the eventual result be. Something should be getting cold or something for this to happen.

I have a ring of my grandmother's and it has a stone in it that I'm not sure what it is. I've asked in jeweler's stores and they always say : ' the gemologist is on vacation' or 'not here'.

It changes colour in the light. Right now it is kind of deep purple colour , but in artificial light it is more reddish/pinkish-purple and in sunlight it looks blueish-purple.

Its not a plastic stone; its a real piece of jewelry. I'm very interested in what it could be. It looks like its cut in a round brilliant cut. Any ideas of what it could be?
