Feathers are normally weighed in avoirdupois units, while gold is measured in troy. One avoirdupois pound =~ 454 grams, while one troy pound =~ 373 grams. So the feathers weigh more.

Hasn't this, "trick question", been asked many times before? Do you want the answer assuming they are weighed on the same measurement system? Perhaps you want them weighed on their respective common measurement systems? Which answer do you want, or are you trying to make yourself feel smart?

Avoirdupois is used for most things and troy used is used for precious metals. If you use the same system they weigh the same. If you use the respective traditional systems then the avoirdupois measured feathers weighs more.
