You need to be very good at Math and Physics. The laws that govern flight aerodynamics are complex and beyond the comprehension of most people.

Chemistry will also help with the material science aspects.

You will need a genuine interest in aircraft and a good amount of discipline and commitment. Methodical, fastidious and exacting. Not much really.

you do not need wings or a plane. You need genuine interest.

You can read magazines or books on planes,history of aviation,
learn how a plane flies. but when you study you will need to know mathamatics, aerodynamics,gyroscopic motion,engine for planes. you should find out nearest musium of aviation,and visit it several times to develope your ginuine interest.
