That's a subjective point of view. Mathematics is really precise and beautiful. Maybe a lot of people dislike it because they don't want to really pay attention and be accurate. Or maybe it is because it really requires logical thinking. And people can be lazy about that kind of thing. Humans have understood quantity and number for a very long time, so it should really be a more natural process.

Probably because a mastery of mathematics requires a lot of ingenuity, critical thinking, and personal effort. These are things that most modern people seem to lack.

I agree with treebird. Math can be really beautiful once you appreciate it and once you put your heart into the logical thinking that Math requires....
I honestly did not like Math before, but it changed becuase I opened my mind into what makes it beautiful... and good. Besides, you'll never know what satisfaction solving a Math problem can do... even if it took you forever to answer one...
People who do not like Math close their minds into what makes other people enjoy the complexities of solving numerical problems... that's a sad truth. But then, if its the most hated, isn't it the most practical? Physics rely on it... statistics are based on calculus... and more.
