Why do binary acids such has Hydrochloric acid contain a reference to Hydrogen in its name-yet Oxyacid names make no reference to hydrogen such as Bromic Acid which contains hydrogen?

the 1st and only other earthquake i ever felt was the big one(8.0) here in the bay area(san francisco area) in california

scared me half to death since i was only 6 at the time and i didnt even know the word earthquake until that one arrived.

i dont know if its some mental block or mind over matter but i dont feel them.

today i guess we had one around a 4.0 and the guys next door ran over to see if i was okay and i was like....dude you trippin.

so what gives? mental block? mind over matter? or do i just happen to be right place at the right time to avoid them?

After spending the entire school year inside working hard at the university you decide to work outdoors in the summer so you take a job of picking fruit in an orchard.The farm provides you with a cart and a small tractor to haul the fruit from the orchard to the truck.the cart consistsof a simple box to carry the load and a single axle with two wheels.the axel is attached to the box using a leaf spring(k).While running this cart back and forth you have a few problems.the main problem is u have to drive over a curb and since u like to drive fast hitting this curb ends up bouncing half the fruit out of the cart.Cart masses 450kg fully loaded(with fruit).displacement of the spring is 5 cm between loaded and free length.You decide to model the cart as a planer model (ie u ignore the cart dynamics & collapse the two tyres & spring into one)& ignore the mass & dynamics of the cart tyres.

i am a high school sophomore. we have this research class and... long story made short, i'm part of a team, and we want to build a robot for our investigatory project out of old gadgetry.
the problem? none of us are familiar with electonics and programming. it's kinda dumb of us and yeah, well, some people would call us stupid, but the teacher's so excited and so are my groupmates so i'm not making a comment. but can anyone tell me if there is a book or a web site that can help us?

Hey, I live in southern California. I have plan to take vacation to travel anywhere that I want to see every day thunderstorms during summertime. I love to see afternoon, evening, and nighttime thunderstorms. I more love to see dusk sunset thunderstorms than any time! Although I don't see every day thunderstorms in around U.S. city. I know Florida is most thunderstorms during summertime. Last year, in Summer I went to Orlando, Florida and I have spent to stay in Kissimmee, FL near World Disney for three weeks although I don't see every day thunderstorms but seldom but I saw very wet rain. I felt to want see every day thunderstorms. Ok, help me you know where has every day thunderstorms give me city/state. If you give me city/state for best summer thunderstorms, I will plan to travel and verify your answer. Possible give you 10 pts. Although I believe in any U.S. city not every day summer thunderstorms.

We all know the classic prank. Someone is asleep. You fill a bowl with warm water, and place the sleeping person's hand into the water. Almost magically, the sleeping person begins to urinate against their will.

Now, my question is...WHY exactly does this happen? It's obviously some sort of biological response, but what response is it, and what purpose does it serve other than a way to get some laughs and make some enemies?
