Here's a question that was posted before in a different section, but I began to think about . . .

The median number of lifetime female sexual partners for men was seven; the median number of male partners for women was four.

from:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19374216/

How is this possible? How can men have a net average number of female partners greater than that of women given that the initial ratio of male/female is 1:1?

I don't have a telescope yet but I do a little amatuer astrophotography in my spare time. I took an amazing picture of Andromeda Galaxy last night completely on accident while I was trying to snap a photo of Mars. I took the photo with a Kodak Z710 with an 8 second shutter time. The illumination at a point is inversely proportional to the square of the distance of the point from the light source and directly proportional to the intensity of the light source. If two light sources are 20 feet apart and their intensities are 30 and 20 respectively, at what point between them will the sum of their illuminations be a minimum?

ill just draw up a scenario.

your walking down the street and you see a cat mauling a bird.

the cat sees you then leaves(he drops the bird)

like i said the bird is hurt badly

is it right to finish the bird? or should i let fate/god(whatever you believe) decided, and ya the bird probably will die.

i never know what to do. one time i closed my eyes while i stepped/suffocated the poor snake with my shoe (he was ripped up badly when i found him)

i felt pretty bad about it though.

it always seems like a rock and a hard place....my parents took my dog to the vet to put her to sleep(bad arthritis in all 4 legs) i know it was right to end her suffering but i still felt uneasy about my parents giving up on her like that.

Because there's less total atmosphere between you and the building than between the star and space

How close do you have to be?
