won't biofuel become so nessesary for human survival that we'll be at the mercy of plants to keep us going?

Biofuels are renewable sources. We just plant more. It is much better to be dependent on something that you can replace than on something that will run out.

The main advantage of biofuels is that the carbon dioxide produced is eventually recycled into more biofuel. This is not true of coal or petroleum. It is obviously better to be dependant on a renewable resource than a non-renewable one.

A good question. I think the corn producers are promoting this.

The U.S. has many centuries of coal still available. China has many more. Oil may run out in about 1-200 years. And burning biofuel produces as much Carbon Dioxide to the atmosphere as coal or oil.

I don't think there's that much urgency for a "renewable" fuel except to benefit the corn growers - or to reduce our dependency on foriegn oil

We're already at the mercy of plants to keep us going. How do you think oxygen gets into the air?

a temporary fix probably but u have a point and all things can be exhausted of their resorces so technically air dirt rock and water in my opinion are the onlytechnicl renewable resources but of course that open to interpretation but thanks for bringing that up i never even thought of that
