An open-top box is to be constructed from a 4 foot by 6 foot rectangular cardboard by cutting out equal squares at each corner and folding up the flaps. Let x denote the length of each side of the square to be cut out.
a) Find the function V that represents the volume of the box in terms of x.
Answer:
Function you are looking for is V = 4(3 - x)(2 - x)x = 4x(x -3)(x – 2)

b) Graph this function and show the graph over the valid range of the variable x..
Show Graph here.

The sensitivity of a symptom is the probability that the symptom is present given that the person has a disease.

The specificity of a symptom is the probability that the symptom is not present given that the person does not have a disease.

Suppose the disease is lung cancer and the symptom is cigarette smoking. If we assume 87% of people with lung cancer and 20.9% of people without lung cancer are smokers. What are the sensitivity and specificity in this case? Can cigarette smoking be used as a diagnostic tool for predicting lung cancer? Why?

Most calculators have 2 different logs on them: log, which is base 10, and ln, which is base e. In computer science, digital computers are based on the binary numbering system which means that there are only 2 numbers available to the computer, 0 and 1. When a computer scientist needs a logarithm, he needs a log to base 2 which is not on any calculator. To find the log of a number to any base, we can use a conversion formula as shown here:

Using this formula, find . Round your answer to the hundredth's place.

It covers a 90 day window and I was in a house where weed was smoked in, but not when I was there. I mean like the house smelled like it had been baked up plenty of times. There was no visible smoke, but I was wondering if I breathed in enough of something to cause me to fail the test. Its a great job opportunity where I will be making about 40k entry level. If you have any answers, I'd appreciate it. Thank you all and God bless.
