This question can be solved fairly easily using conversion factors. First, you must know the numerical relationships between miles-kilometers, and gallons-liters. 1km = 0.062137 mi. and 1 gal = 3.7854 L. I solved this problem in three separate steps. First step is to convert miles to km. So take 35 mi/gal and multiply it by 1km/0.62137mi. The miles will cancel out and you will be left with approximately 56km/gal. ( I say approximately because it depends on the number of significant figures you are using) Step two, convert gallons to liters. So 56km/gal multiplied by 1 gal/3.7854L. The gal will cancel out and you will be left with 15km/L Third step is to cancel out the km so all we will be left with is liters. So take 1L/15km and multiply it by 450km, and we are left with our answer. Which is approximately 30 Liters. So it will take 30 liters of gasoline to travel 450 kilometers. I hope this helps.

35 miles per gal = 35x1.60935 km per gal or 56.3 km per gal.
1 gallon = 3.7853 liters so the car gets 56.3 km per 3.7853 liters or 56.3/3.7853 km per L (14.87 km per liter)
450 km / 14.87 lm per liter = 30.3 liters of gasoline is required.
You need to know how to convert from miles to kilometers and from gallons to liters. You probably have some list of conversion factors available. I used my 1953 edition of the Hanbook of Chemistry and Physics (published by Chemical Rubber Publishing Co.). That should give you a clue to my age.

35 miles= 56 Km, which means 56Km per gallon.
450/56 = 8 gallons. 1 gallon = 4.5 liters
8x4.5 = 36 liters

let x be the number of liters:
x=450km*(liters of gasoline / km)
conversion:
1 mile = 1.609344 kilometer
1 liter = 0.264172051 US gallons
convert to km/li:
35mi/gal * 1.609344 kilometer/1mile * 0.264172051 US gallons/1liter
this would be equal to 14.88002968355904 km/li.
for a 450km trip:
x=450km * (liters/14.88002968355904 km)
x=30.241875155478047181331120231996 liters of gasoline.
approximately, for a 450km trip you will need 30.24 liters of gasoline.
