I understand that several tens of thousands of years of co-evolution between Homo sapiens and Canis lupus have resulted in a subspecies called Canis lupus familiaris, distinct from Canis lupus lupus.

Is there a Homo sapiens familiaris, and if so, where can I get one?

Being a C. lupus familiaris myself, I'm keen to make the best match I can.

I have to derive

B_helmholtz = (8 / 5*sqrt5) (mu_0*N*i / R)

from

B_x (X) = (mu_0 / 2) [NiR^2 / (R^2 + X^2)^3/2]

Now X = R/ 2 and - R/ 2

I'm thinking that you sub this (X) into B_x (X)

Any ideas?

This is a stumper. If a can of compressed air is punctured and the escaping air blows to the right, the can will move to the left in a rocket-like fashion. Now consider a vacuum can that is punctured. The air blows in the left as it enters the can. After the vacuum is filled the can will:

a) be moving to the left
b) be moving to the right
c) not be moving

Think about how odd it is that the Earth is in such a condition that it could support life. It's the right size and chemical composition, has the right sized moon to keep it stable on its axis, is the right distance from the sun for temperature purposes, etc. Just a little bit off - smaller moon -- no moon -- less water, whatever -- and we'd be another barren world.

Our solar system only has 1 planet with life. How likely is it that other solar systems have a planet that has the characteristics of an Earth? Can such a likelihood be estimated?

There are hundreds of billions of solar systems in our galaxy alone...... are they all empty? How likely is it that a life giving planet could develop and be in existence at the same time we are? Yikes.... 1 in a hundred billion? 1 in 200 billion?

A model water rocket is launched with an initial velocity of 180ft/sec. Its height, h, in feet, after t seconds is given by the formula

h = 180t - 16t(squared)

1. After how many seconds will the rocket first reach a height of 464 ft?

2. After how many seconds from launching will the rocket again be at that same height of 464 ft?

He earns a commission of RM1000for the first month and this omission increases by RM100 for each subsequent month. On the other hand, Chandran decides to go into a business. He open a café and makes a profit of RM100 in the first month. For the first year, his profit in each subsequent month is 50% more than that of the previous month.
In the second year, Ang receives a 10% increment in his monthly pay. On the other hand, the commission received by Bakar is reduced by RM50 for each subsequent month. In addition, the profit made by Chandran is reduced by 105 for each subsequent month.
1 (a) How much does each of them receive at the end of the first year? (b)What is the percentage change in their total income for the second year compared to the first year?

This is a little project I am undertaking for the fun of it. My alarm clock doesn't have battery backup so I wanted to install a capacitor in the event of short brownouts of a minimum of 3 seconds. I am not sure of the secondary voltage of the alarm clock but it is no more than10 volts as their are other capacitors rated for 10 volts. I measured the amperage during normal operation at .2 amps. So the total resistance should be around 50 ohms. I am thinking I will need a fairly large capacitor like in the milifarad range. Thanks!
