Space and time are related through gravity and it is sure that gravity caused a decceleration of time as more mass was formed in the early universe. Are these rates necessarily uniform? And as more mass is converted to energy will this locally affect the change in rate of time and space (less mass = less gravity)?

I'm a vegetarian but I'm also a biochemist in training. A large part of my work is to do with genetic engineering and pharmaceutical research.

To test a lot of things, it's necessary to use animal models.

While furthering medical advances seems like a more worthy cause for animal suffering than a hamburger, I'm wondering how other vegetarians working in science cope with the necessary fact of animal research?

If an internal combustion engine is a "heat engine", why is the cooling effect of the cooling liquid limited by a thermostat? Surely the lower the coolant temperature (exit temperature), the more efficient the engine.

Okay this is weird, in our apartment we have a picture in a frame hanging above the bar. A few days ago I was looking at it and thinking "I wonder what would happen to the glass if the picture fell, would it shattering or spider out or what?" I didn't tell anyone about this, it was just one of the random thoughts going through my head. So last night I was almost asleep and heard a loud bang. I thought it was just the metal button on jeans going through the washer so I went to sleep. This morning my husband went into the living room and the picture was laying on the ground, it wasn't shattered like someone stepped on it. It was broken into four pieces almost even. I called my mom and she said it was precognition and it runs in our family as well as seeing, I guess you call them shadows of spirits which I've seen before in my old house as well as my apartment (she called them yahoodees not like ghosts but shadows of people. Do you think I'm crazy or has this ever happened to you?

Yup, after 24 years it decided to blow sparks today and cease breathing. I'm heartbroken. The combination cooking using convection and microwave together, produced amazing results. And the convection on it's own was the best oven I ever used. RIP darling. Do they make them like they used to and if I buy one today, how long will it last?
