Depends. When you had it the first time, did they take your tonsils out? If they did, then no. You can't get tonsilitis again. If they left them in, then yes. You can get it again... but there is nothing you can do to MAKE yourself get it. Sorry.

Yes, it's possible. All "itis" means is "swollen," so "tonsilitis" just means "swollen tonsils." And swollen tonsils can be caused by any number of common cold viruses, as well as all kinds of bacteria (such as those that lead to strep throat). So, yeah - you can get tonsilitis over, and over, and over again, for essentially as long as you have tonsils. There have even been cases where someone had their tonsils removed, but the little nodes of tissue that were left behind where the tonsils once were, became infected and swollen, anyway. So I guess, though rare, you can even get tonsilitis without really having tonsils!
If you really want to get tonsilitis again, I recommend finding someone who already has it, and then handling something that person has just handled and then rubbing your eyes or something. Most people think that just a sneeze or breathing around the sick person is enough to catch what they've got, but you really need to transfer the disease-causing mechanism (the germ or virus) to your mucus membranes (eyes, inside of nose and mouth, etc.) in order to give it a good start in your body. And the best source of those little germies is the sick persons mucus membranes, too. Use your imagination to figure out how to get their disease-filled mucus to your own mucus membranes....
By the way - day care centers always seem to have a lot of stuff going around. You could start there....
Hope this helps.

Yes, you can get tonsillitis multiple times. The "itis" suffix simply means "an inflammation of". Irritation or infection of the tonsils can result in inflammation. So long as you have not had them removed (a tonsillectomy), they can become inflamed, resulting in tonsillitis.
It is actually more common in adults than you might think, with mild cases simply dismissed as a "sore throat" that goes away as the inflammation subsides. You may have had mild tonsillitis already, although heaven only knows WHY you would want to.
As to how... I've no knowledge, experience, or advice in that area, lol.

You don't want it again! But yes you can get it many, many times. Try seeking the help of a psychologist to get over wanting to be sick.
