NO. The nearest star (alpha centauri) is 4 light years away. That means it would take 4 years travelling at the speed of light to reach it. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second! I do believe there is life elsewhere in the universe, but you have to consider a few factors.
1. Of all the stars in the universe, how many have planets?
2. Of all the planets in the universe, how many support life?
3. Of all the life supporting planets in the universe, how many have intelligent life?
Now assuming you can come up with a figure to the last question, I think it would be a safe bet that they are very, very few and far between. Maybe only a few in each galaxy (a generous guess).
If we also assume that Einstein was right and no matter can travel as fast as light. You are looking at a very long journey time. Millions of years. Do you really think an intelligent life would travel trillions of miles over millions of years just to have a sneaky look then go home?

This is a fascinating subject. There were cave drawings that depicted animals and a man with an oval space helmet on. This was dated back to the stone age. There has also been many books written that state that the Pentagon in America already has an Alien assisting with various technology. Hence the sudden change in aircraft design to the stealth. There are also lots of film footage that shows round lights appearing around our spacecraft almost as if they are monitoring what we were doing. So for me I often wonder :
With their technology why haven't they taken the planet as there is enough of them?
Are we the experiment hence when population rises there then seems to be a war, disease etc?
and last but not least are we what we think we are.Living in this enormous space or is it all relative... Maybe our world is only the size of a golf ball .... Weird.....

Religous shock- To many religous faithful out there, alien races are unthinkable. It doesn't mention such an important thing in the Bible or whatever text they use, so they must not exist. Humans are the product of an intelligently designed universe (from a religous point of view) and we are the "One and Only" race out there. The unquestionable discovery of alien intelligence would cause a massive shock to these belief systems. Aliens would be seen as far more intelligent than humans, and people would ask their opinion on God. Either an affirmation or a denial of a God's existance could be very, very destructive to modern culture.
2. I think that once aliens made contact with us, we would start to demand that they start sharing their technology with us. How could they refuse? For example, their medical technology could save millions of lives, or their fusion or antimatter power generation save our planet from environmental disaster. As we recieved more and more technology from them, our own pace of technology would slow, and completely stop. We would become entirely dependant on the aliens, and totally lose all human initiative. Why try to invent anything at all, if someone else has already invented it?
3. This third harmful effect could be prevented, but it is still a danger.
The Europeans brought smallpox and other diseases that obliderated the Native Americans- diseases that their bodies had no experience fighting. Direct contact with alien lifeforms could have similar but far worse results, both to us, and them. How is our body- or even any living creature on our planet for that matter- supposed to fight off a plauge from another planet?! Life on earth would be totally unprepared for such an alien pathogen.

There has been recorded sighting of visitors from space throughout time. Recorded in writings, paintings, and by word of mouth. There are land drawings that can only been seen from space etched into our ground. There are stuctures that have been built with advance technologies that seem to come from nowhere.
To think that we are totally alone in our universe would be just plain silly. The law of averages indicates that that is not possible. To think that we alone are the most intelligent creatures in the universe is also plain silly.
Little green men or gray skinny things...well I don't know about that, however, I am very sure that they are out there. Have the visited us, I believe that too. Why are they not public with their visits...do you blame them. Do I have to remind you of our TV and movies depicting evil brain sucking men from space. We are not a very passive people.
Maybe like Star Treks vision...they are waiting until we all grow up and are ready to join the universe as peaceful explorers as well.
It is also been said that our sun and world will not live on forever so the stars are our only hope. For humanity to survive we must start to reach out to space. So one day another world might recording visits from outerspace which might even be us. Would we come with trumpets sounding and light shows ablaze or silentely to observe.

They've been here for thousands of years. I once took a ride in a flying saucer, the little man who spoke with me, when I called him an alien, said in an Irish accent, "who are you calling an alien, if it come to a matter of time, I have more right to live here on Earth, then any human. Because he went on to say I was created here 3 or 4 thousand years ago". He said he is a Leprechaun. He speaks over 400 languages, I said to him they must be thousands of years ahead of us, in technology. He said try millions. They live in another dimension, where they are outside the limits of time. Spirit beings or Angels and demons are mentioned many times in the Bible, as they are in most religions. So are flying saucers spoken of as flying chariots blazing with light or wheels within wheels, etc. There are ancient scripts in India that speak of flying machines and some even with a flight manual. I could be in deep trouble for saying all this, as he said it would not go well for me if I later go blabbing my mouth of. But I think most people will not take this seriously. Though every word is true as far as my memory serves. We spoke a lot more also. But can't put it all here. They have agents in every major human organisation.
We are virtually unaware of their existence, let alone their influence upon humanity.

Aliens DO NOT EXIST! More like government agents dressed up like aliens to kidnap you and inspect your anus so you can tell the world you've been abducted and look like a moron. All theory's scientists have tried when trying to figure out how they would get to another terrestrial planet like earth have failed, and always will all possibilities are just to many billions of miles away for us to ever reach them with out dying of old age first same goes for aliens. The only possibilities for aliens would be evolved humans traveling back in time if you believe that's possible.

Maybe they have, I've read a lot of reports from a lot of people. I decided it wasn't real news until a being from another planet popped in for a cup of tea. Some people around me were expecting a bigger response from me after the pilot came forward last week but it's nothing new, it's exactly the same as some of the other reports.

Yes, I read a book titled : Flying Saucers From Mars.A photograph was taken of a very tall Martian man ; this photo is in the book. The book [ I think, is written by the gentleman, who saw the space-vehicle land, and who witnessed the entire happenings].

Absolutely, You'd be daft to think we are the only civilised beings in the universe, Earth is relatively young planet and look how far we've come. Bear in mind were only 50years or so from achieving super fast space travel ourselves.
But we just can't stop fighting each other so we might only make it to mars.

Our politicians certainly live on a different planet to the rest of us.
On a more serious note read the bible Adam and Eve's children "lay" with the animals.figure it for neanderthals and suddenly you've got a jump in IQ. And again scientists tell us that mankind can be traced back to one woman in Africa. well she had to come from somewhere.
