My clone getting more action than me. Would I be able to live through one vicariously?

Even if cloning became morally acceptable, clones still have disadvantages over the the ones made the usual natural way. To name a couple, success rate is very low (you'll need a lot of eggs) and clones of vertebrates show signs of ageing very early in life (meaning the clone does not live the full life span of the natural born species). Seems like the cells and their chromosomes have timing devices stored somewhere like in the lengths of their telomeres (the ends of the chromosomes), so although the clone's only a baby, the chromosomes are already as old as the source. In short, there are still a lot of things that need to be ironed out before we can clone humans in a manner that would really make them 100% like natural newborns.

well at the moment the success rate for clones in animals like sheep, cows is quite low, so only a small percentage eg 1% or less actually get thru to being born.

2. you will not see the clone live in your life time ( unless you are like identical twins, which are clones, and born the same time)...you will have to wait for them to grow up, they live the same as we do.

3. There may be some possible disadvantages to the life quality, due to technical problems eg Dolly the sheep had a shorter life than average and I think she had bad artheritis.

4. Technically it will only have 1 parent and this may cause "issues" with the "clone" the parent and/ or the surrogate......these may also be legal issues too ( if parents were to split up and the surrogate who has no genetic link to the clone child may have problems.

We could end up with a world full of Paris Hiltons! And NO, the Bible never mentions cloning. I mean, read the book for god' sake!

If there is a soul, would a clone have one?

The ethical questions are endless.
