Let the function G(x,n,j) equal 1 when there is a sequence of integers x of length n contained in some real number j and zero when this is not true. (For example, G(9,2,pi)=1 because there is a sequence of 2 9s at about the hundreth decimal place.)

Let the function G(x,n,j) be given in the form of a triple infinte series:

G(x,n,j) = lim ∑ ∑ ∑a(x,q) + b(n,w) + c(j,e),
summation →∞

where the varibles q, w and e are indicies of summation. Let the functions a, b and c be continuous everywhere.

(a) Is it true that

lim ∂G/∂j = k, k < ∞ ?
j→∞

(b) Is it true that for intervals (0, j) , (j+1, j+2), etc, that the following inequalities are always true?
j
∫G(x,j,n) dj <
0

2j
∫G(x,j,n) dj < ... n→∞
j

(For part b assume that if a function f(x) has an set of values for which the Riemann integral fails to exist than the Riemann integral is zero at those values.)

Question: two rigid rods are oriented parallel to each other and to the ground. the rods carry the same current in the same direction. the length of each rod is 0.85 m, and the mass of each is 0.073 kg. one rod is held in place above the ground, while the other floats beneath the distance of 8.2 x 10^-3 m. Determine the current in the rods.

My Approach: Ok, I did not have a specific approach. I am confused about the variables...how would you use them in this equation? Force = ILBsin(theta).

i figured force by multiplying (.073)(9.8 m/s^2) = .72 N...i used that in the equation listed above. however, my question is regarding the B and L values. very confusing!??? all help appreciated

A B C

1 2 3

this is the set up! what you have to do is connect the number 1 at all A,B, and C with lines. The same goes 2 and 3. The only thing is... you can't overlap the lines! Can anyone do it!!! Lets find out.

I don't get it.

Take Cesium for an example. It has both s and p orbitals.

Since s is a sphere, can't you tell the probability using s alone?

So let's get back to that interval thing. Let's say that the interval is, instead, [x^2, pi]. And the integral is S(sin2t dt). How do I take the derivative of that one?

I know you can only have numbers: 0,1,2,3,4,5
I know the answer to the probability question is that it is out of 36, but I cannot figure out how to get that 36.
