this is the set up! what you have to do is connect the number 1 at all A,B, and C with lines. The same goes 2 and 3. The only thing is... you can't overlap the lines! Can anyone do it!!! Lets find out.

You can draw three parallel horizontal lines through A, B, and C. Connect the upper line to 1, the middle line to 2, and the lower line to 3. Does that work?

It's impossible to do with 9 lines. You can prove this with graph theory. Though you can cheat by drawing lines that pass through more than three boxes. For example, draw a line that comes out of "1" on the left, curves upard to touch the left side of "A" in the middle, then continues passing through until it goes through "B" and then "C". Then repeat the process with the other two numbers.
