In general, are Warren trusses or Pratt trusses stronger? Are Whipple trusses stronger than Pratt trusses?

See my previous posts on trusses. Try a bow truss, where the maximum separation of your top chord and bottom chord occurs in the middle of the truss, just like the maximum moment.

Study up on this. It is interesting, and there are lots of online resources. Know that the top chord members, compression, should be short and stout in the middle of the span.

nope the closest thing to that i guess was when our class did an army residential and made a bridge out of 3 long thin pieces of card and two chop sticks and then put weights on it to see how many kgs it could hold before it broke. our team won yaaaay 17 kgs it held, ahhhh i miss schoool :)
