Algebra 2 deals with solving numeric answers in a step by step basis using your analytical skills. Geometry uses "global" type thinking to use theorems to solve proofs. See, a person can choose many different paths to end up at the same solution for Geometry while Algebra on the other hand, one can only take a certain logical path to get the correct answer.
A better comparison of the two is basically, Algebra is to Math as Geometry is to English.
PS. I have been through the exact same predicament as you and wondered why...I was not exactly an "English" person.

Algebra and Geometry are different. Geometry uses some Algebra but it is sort of applied. Besides, you may just be in a better studious mood or have a different better teacher and a mid to high B is so close to an A that it almost doesn't matter.

Algebra and geometry require different ways of thinking, you're obviously stronger in an analytical mind to break down your algebra, but have less in the spacial realm of geometry...

At the very outset of this answer, let me tell you Arthur, nothing is good or bad, happy or sad, &, easy of hard ----- its just one's own thinking that MAKES it so for him/her. Let me just ask you, who gave you this idea that, "Algebra 2 supposed to be harder than Geometry"? This is an absolutely atrocious & ridiculous idea, Arthur. So, if this idea hatched in your mind on its own, or if someone had put in in your mind, or whatever it may be, just KICK it out of your mind RIGHT NOW, 'coz believe me, this ain't gonna get you anywhere in life, I'm telling you. And why do you just have to have an opinion on things being either hard or easy, which would accompany its very existence? Just learn things as they are required to be learnt, & then nothing would be 'difficult'. And I seriously don't think there's any reason for you to be pleasantly shocked by your better results in Algebra 2 than in Geometry like the way you are, although you can rejoice a bit about it & probably even party for a day or two, if you like. I think the simple reason for your better results in Algebra 2 than in Geometry could be (1) either you have made a lot of those so called 'silly mistakes' in Geometry, or (2) you have not gained as much conceptual clarity in Geomety as you think you have. So, instead of getting pleasantly shocked in getting a better grade in Algebra 2, I think what you need to do is, (1) find out your areas of low conceptual clarity in Geometry, if any, by solving some Geometry problems of a somewhat higher standard, (2) try to reduce & avoid your silly mistakes in Geometry, if any, & (3) keep up your good work in Algebra & try to maintain it. And yes, I'd like to add one more thing before I conclude my 'looooong & boring speech', as you now might be thinking of it this way, probably. I'd request you to please not take my words as a sort of scolding, or negative criticism, or whatever; take it as a word of advice given to you by your friend & well-wisher. Hope my words help you somewhat in life. Cheers, pal !

Algebra deals with numerical concepts. Geometry deals with the ability to grasp 3d concepts and apply the rules of geometry to them.

I think algebra is very different from geometry, its your level of analytical thinking and your logic that determines your expertise in math, but I'ts always up to you if you will focus to one than another

they're both really simple
geometry implies a 3 dimensional view of things, is a little bit more physical
algebra needs a more abstract mind, leaning towards calculations that are not necessarily linked to real objects
people have various capabilities but not always both kind
with time you will find them both easy to understand and apply on daily bases

Both are equally easy and at the same time equally difficult. In algebra, however, you have to remember various vormulae and have just to use them at appropiate places>But in Geometry in addition to your knowledge in the subject, you have to apply your brain also. This does not mean that I am not giving credit to your proficiency in algebra.please keep it up and you are sure to succeed.

I agree with the previous responder. One reason could be just different ways of thinking. Although they're both math, they have their differences in terms of grasping concepts.
