On my homework, this is the only problem with a number outside the parenthesis. I am looking through my notes and the book and it doesn't say how to solve it.
FYI, ^2 and ^3 is to the second power and to the third power if you didn't know. So that would be (14x+3-41x squared +x cubed)

This goes under adding and subtracting polynomials.

a. What is the net force exerted by the car on the trailer in N?
b. What is the magnitude of the force that the trailer exerts on the car in N?
(c) What is the net force acting on the car in N?

A force of magnitude 8.11 N pushes 3 boxes with masses m1 = 1.30 kg, m2 = 3.20kg, and m3 = 4.90kg. Find the contact force between boxes 1 & 2, and between boxes 2 & 3.

Two crewmen pull a boat through a lock. One crewman pulls with a force of 130 N at an angle, θ = 35°, relative to the forward direction of the boat. The 2nd crewman, on the opp side of the lock, pulls at an angle of 45° degrees relative to the forward direction. With what force should the second crewman pull so that the net force of the two crewmen is in the forward direction?

I thank you for the answer but would like the answer to be given more detail on how he could explain how the answer was given. I would the answer to be step by step so that if he had to do another questioning similar he would be able to use extensive response with his answer. Thank you for answering this question so promptly.

On the bottom of the black sea near mt. Arafat
where Noah's ark landed they have found artifacts
of towns and villages that tells the story that the
whole area was once dry land. The artifacts were
carbon dated. Results, time of noah. There was
evidence of a great flood by the water line touching areas of the mountians. The black sea
is what is left over from the flood. Sattelite images
of some type of ship mostly burried under snow
have been seen on mt. arafat. Now One can understand how Noah got one of each kind of
animal on the ark. Every human being lived in
the area which is now the black sea. The rest of
the world had not been discovered and the rest
of animal life lived there undesturbed by humankind.

A police car traveling a constant 93.0km/hr (25.83 m/s), is passed by a speeder traveling 142km/hr (39.44 m/s). Precisely 1.22s after the speeder passes, the policeman steps on the accelerator. If the police car's acceleration is 1.87m/s2, how much time elapses after the police car is passed until it overtakes the speeder (assumed moving at constant speed)?

The police needs to reach the same speed as the other car, so the final velocity is 39.44 m/s. The initial velocity is 25.83 m/s. Acceleration is 1.87 m/s^2 and the time which we are looking for would be +1.22 seconds because that's how long he took to react. So I plugged it into Vf = Vi + a(t+1.22) which for me turned out to be 8.50 s. I even tried subtracting the time t-1.22s and still got the problem wrong. Any hints?

I had been using my computer for a few hours, and I went outside. When I looked up at the full moon, there was a bright rainbow encircling it. I thought wow! and figured it must be something in the air, so thought I would watch the news on tv. Then, my neighbor's fluorescent light caught my eye, and I was seeing a rainbow around it too! It has lessened in the last few days, but I am still seeing a rainbow around my neighbor's light at night. Can't see the moon tonight at all. Any idea what is going on with my eyes?
