The hearing of animals is far more sensitive than a humans' hearing. So a noise that just sounds loud to us, is very very loud for them. And they don't understand what is making the noise, or why.
If you heard an extremely loud noise and you didn't what it was or why it was, (especially in a current state of war, I might add) you would be scared to I would imagine.
Mostly, there just very sensitive and they don't understand.

Animals are afraid of loud noises because it benefited them evolution-wise to be that way. Loud noises are not that common in nature, and if something causes one, an animal has a much greater chance of survival if it runs away. A human would undoubtedly be afraid of a loud noise if they were reduced to their wild, completely uneducated state.
