8.25h = $102.30
Find value of 'h'
h = 102.30/8.25
h = $12.40
By that, Carlos earns $12.40 per hour.
At the same rate,
12.4 x 14 = $173.60(Answer).

Well, leaving out the question of the illegality of working 14 hours without being paid overtime:

$102.30 for 8.25 hours of work is $12.40 an hour ($102.30 divided by 8.25 hours).

So, if he works 14 hours at the same rate, he will earn 14 X $12.40 an hour = $173.60.

I assume you have 2 problems here. Both involve proportions. In the first, multiply both side by 39. You should wind up with M = 6.

In the second, you can form the proportion
102.30/8.25 = x / 14.
total pay/hrs worked= total pay/hrs worked
In a like manner, x = $173.60.

$102.30/8.25 hr = $12.40/hr

$12.40 * 14 hr = $173.60
and...

cross multiply for the 8/52 = m/39

8 * 39 = 52m

312 = 52m

312/52 = m

6 = m

(8*39)/52 = M

102.3/8.25 = $12.40per hr.
14($12.40) amount earned for 14 hrs.

so you need his rate of pay in dollars per hour:

rate = 102.30 $ / 8.25 h
= 12.4 $/hr

then the amount of money he would make in 14 hours would be:
money = (12.4 $/hr) (14 hr)
= $173.6

Solve for "M"... 8/52 = M/39

First: eliminate fractions - multiply the denominators with everything...

(52)(39)(8/52) = (52)(39)(M/39)

Sec: cross cancel "like" terms & combine the rest...

(39)(8) = (52)(M)

312 = 52M

Or, 52M = 312

Third: isolate "M on one side - divide both sides by "52"...

52M/52 = 312/52

M = 6

I found out that answer is "2" after a normal 2 step attitude.. I pronounced that "factors" were credited to numbers which could be contemplated/reversed like 0,6,8 and 9, so all others a million,2,3,4,5,7 were no longer getting any factors. second step of my commentary is that 8 nicely worth 2 factors, even as 0,6 and 9 nicely worth one element. subsequently, 2581 equals 0.5+2+0 = 2 :) Cheers, Dimitris
