I always see these little tiny purple butterflies in our mudpuddles and I absolutely LOVE them, but I don't know what they are! They are always hanging out in the puddles with the yellow butterflies with the black dots. Are the purple ones even butterflies? Or are they some type of moth? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!

I don't have a picture, and I can't find one on the internet, either. The yellow ones aren't monarch's, I know what those are. These yellow ones just have little specs and they are about the size of a quarter. The purple ones are about the size of, or smaller than a dime. I live in the United States - Indiana.

Mika - I think they are moths, because when they land, thier wings are closed, though they rarely land. I have used the links provided, but I still can't find them. They are a SOLID purple/blue. There are no stripes or dots of any kind on them.
