We are doing a science project and our teacher requires us to have a control group. My problem is I don't know what a control group is.
My project is: Does chewing gum increase your mouth's bacteria?
I'm comparing the bacteria growth of chewing gum after meals and not chewing gum after meals. I think my control group would be gum..right?

Also, please help me on how to explain my control group in a detailed format.

Great thanks. All help is appreciated. =)

I work at a small doctor's office. This morning a patient who had pain in the chest "THINKS" he had stomach problem, but his ECG revealed maybe he has proximal ventricular fibrillation. The doctor refered him to a cardiologist, explained what could be happening to him, but the patient looks like he's not listening what doctor is saying at all. I'm convinced he'll not be bothered to see the cardiologist at all. Is there anything wise that I can do, to help him?

A study was conducted in the U.K. in 2001 which determined that the gene that causes red hair + freckles in people is a very old gene (dating 50,000 - 100,000 years).
Modern man (Cro-Magnons) didn't come about until approximately 40,000 years ago, so it is believed that the red hair gene comes from Neanderthals. What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's possible, especially because Neanderthals lived in a very cold environment (Ice Age Europe). Red heads are pale, and pale skin is associated with cold environments. I could easily picture Neanderthals being pale and having red hair.

Putting all jokes aside, I was just wondering how accurate your weatherman was. If he was usually pretty right on the money, or if he was usually way off base? Trying to what my weatherman is like compared to the rest of them out there. Ours is usually pretty good, though he likes to save his butt saying 40% chance, etc. but we don't know where that 40% is here in Georgia...is it the same with you?? Thanks ahead of time!!

Preferably grounded answers but since the topic is wide ranging, all contributions welcome.

Scientists opinion are that these were pre-historic large skeletons that resembled humans. Myth or fact ?

Folk myth and religion purport that these are fallen angels. The easiest readily available source are from palimpsests and scrolls making up Genesis.

Kindly support answers from historical and ancient text where possible and available.
