Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the fifth largest:
orbit: 149,600,000 km (1.00 AU) from Sun
diameter: 12,756.3 km
mass: 5.972e24 kg
"Earth is the only planet whose English name does not derive from Greek/Roman mythology. The name derives from Old English and Germanic. There are, of course, hundreds of other names for the planet in other languages. In Roman Mythology, the goddess of the Earth was Tellus - the fertile soil (Greek: Gaia, terra mater - Mother Earth).
"The Earth's surface is very young. In the relatively short (by astronomical standards) period of 500,000,000 years or so erosion and tectonic processes destroy and recreate most of the Earth's surface and thereby eliminate almost all traces of earlier geologic surface history (such as impact craters). Thus the very early history of the Earth has mostly been erased. The Earth is 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old, but the oldest known rocks are about 4 billion years old and rocks older than 3 billion years are rare. The oldest fossils of living organisms are less than 3.9 billion years old. There is no record of the critical period when life was first getting started."
71% of its surface is covered with water.
"The interaction of the Earth and the Moon slows the Earth's rotation by about 2 milliseconds per century. Current research indicates that about 900 million years ago there were 481 18-hour days in a year."

There are many New facts about the Earth that was brought to light by me in the past many years...I discovered these facts in the early years of my life and did not speak out till the past 6-8 years.. Example: ( Relativity ) Instead of a planets mass putting pressure on space...( Vacuum Relativity ) A planets inner design determines it's upper atmosphere and upper atmosphere layer pressures.
Thus the planets atmosphere is putting pressure against the -0- Vacuum of space.. Hydro-Magnetic Energy is another Newer Fact figured out...Thus Hydro-Magnetics is Born, it's a constant current thing..It was thought that Nuclear energy was the Key to the future, it is not!...

Contrary to popular belief, they now think the earth has two moons. The other is a captured asteroid that orbits the earth every 720 years or there abouts.

Everyone spewing wikipedia, but me:
mass: about 6 billion trillion tonnes
atmosphere weighs 5000 trillion tonnes
Therefore solid Earth is 1 million times the weight of its atmosphere.
Weight of humanity, assuming 50 Kg per person
300 million tonnes
So, in relation to the weight of Earth, we are puny.
The Earth is about 20 TRILLION times the weight of humanity.
Just in case you think we are filling it up.

3rd planet from the Sun. 8,000 miles in diameter. The only planet we know of with conditions right for life. Warm enough but not too hot. Lots of water and oxygen.
