I have red hair. I know this is an oversimplification, but to my understanding there is a set of at least 3 gene sets which deal with hair color. Brown/blond (blond recessive) non-red/red (red recessive) and a set dealing with how dark the color is (all dark makes black hair)

My mother has blond hair (Bl-Bl/Nr-R/20% dark), my dad has black hair (Br-Br/Nr-R/100% dark) I ended up inheriting both resessive reds to end up with a copper-red hair (Br-Bl/R-R/60% dark) Yet a few of my hairs on my arms, or legs grow in pitch black. How does this happen? Is some of my cells dna actually slightly different than other cells?

Since, our brains and our bodies are composed of particles that never make mistakes in forming into flawless parts. Shouldn't the matter we're composed of.Which knows how to self assemble itself by certain fixed laws also produce flawless answers & insights. When asking about it's origin or when trying to solve a given problem. I mean; how can we even make mistakes in the first place or not understand something perfectly ? It makes no sense.

How can it be that photons can travel at the speed of light but objects that have mass cannot? Is it E=mc^2 wrong? I know that energy = mass and that mass = energy. But here it says the contrary when it is stated that photons don’t have mass.

We heard a lot about Tamiflu and handwashing, but in 1918, during the Spanish Flu, millions of people died of secondary bacterial infections (pneumonia and menigitis). And it was the young healthy soldiers that got it most. So, why not give everyone these vaccines?

I was watching a cooking show when the chef said to fill a pot of cold water to boil. He made a point to say that he didn't know why, but he learned in cooking school to always start with cold water because it heats faster. I didn't believe him until I tried it myself and sure enough, cold water heated faster! It wasn't a terribly scientifc experient, but roughly same amount of water, same size pot.
