If I earned $200.00 on selling an item and said 7% tax was included, how much was the item?

And most importantly what is the formula? I figured out what I am selling each item for but when I total my sales up at the end of the day I just want to figure out how much of it is tax and how much is profit. Can you give me the algebraic formula so I can use it everytime ...for 7% sales tax. x=y minus .07times y??? I cant remember how to di it...help please.

How does Raju manage to accumulate130,000 points in nine months?

Tell me . How does one manage to get 130,000 points in nine months?
This guy Raju has managed, and I admire him for having the tenacity to sit and answer the questions, to accumulate all these points.
If you do the maths on the probability of amassing so many points and the restrictions Yahoo impose, it is impossible to achieve in that time span. Explanation please.

Why is it that high frequency transformers can be smaller than their low frequency counterparts?

I understand that switching power supplies (such as those used in computer power supplies) can use small, light transformers because they convert AC to DC and then convert the DC to high frequency current before stepping the voltage down through a transformer. For a given wattage power supply, a switching power supply is much smaller and lighter than than a non-swithching supply because it can use such a small transformer. Why does a high frequency allow a smaller transformer to be used?

It seems to me that for a given wattage supply, whether switching or not, the same amount of power passes through the transformer. Since only the frequency of the input voltage is changed, but not the voltage itself, the currents in the transformer's windings should also be the same for either supply type.

What is it about high frequency that allows a smaller transformer to be used?

Does the electrons of an atom get "sucked" in to to neucleus if an atom is cooled to an extreame?

my theory is that electrons slow down when cooled... so since they have less force pulling them out do they get sucked it..??

Trig Confusion?

So I wouldn't be asking this question if I hadn't already tried forever to figure it out on my own.... so........ please..... help. lol

...This should be really easy, but I think I'm missing something somewhere......

Here's the problem:

Angular Speed - A Car is moving at a rate of 50 miles per hour, and the diameter of its wheels is 2.5 feet

(a) Find the rotational speed of the wheels in revolutions per minute.

(b) Find the angular speed of the wheels in radians per minute.

PLEASE help. I've done this problem in so many ways, and I keep getting different answers that do NOT make sence. And I need an explanation... not just an answer.....

It should come out to

(a) 560.2 revolutions per minute and (b) 3520 radians per minute.

But I don't know how to get to those answers....
