I was just like you. Eventually I got an engineering degree.
1) Study the concept first. Do not crunch numbers as if you are following a recipe. Study the meaning behind the numbers until you completely understand it. Then do the numbers.

2) It has been shown in science and math that the more problems you do and the more equations you do, the better you are at it. In other words, practice! practice! practice!

Is it the math or the basic concepts that are giving you a hard time?

The math just takes practice and memorization of the rules and procedures. It's like the alphabet or the multiplication tables - once you learn them, you won't forget.

The basic concepts take understanding. If you can understand at a basic level why something reacts or operates the way it does, the more complicated problems become just a matter of breaking them down into their basic parts. That way the complex becomes much easier.

When an electronics technician takes the back off a television, he doesn't become overwhelmed at the apparent complexity of the printed circuit or the overwhelming array of wires - he knows that the entire process of producing the image on the screen is done by numerous separate circuit functions - each one of these being relatively simple. Once he isolates the individual circuit that's faulty, he repairs it. If he just tried to tackle the whole chassis, he would eventually get frustrated and throw it in the trash. By breaking it down into its individual parts, he can isolate the concern.

Its just the shear number of simple parts that make a machine seem complex.

It's the same with science.

i am not a geek but i loved my science class and learned alot sometimes it depends on your teacher my teacher was hilarious in class though i understand it can be hard try to find funny ways to help you remember things it makes it easier if you can identify them them with something that makes you laugh but then again i can find humor in most things i come across
