get a small can that has a lid to put the egg in. pack cotton balls or bubble wrap around it inside the little can. wrap pillow stuffing around the outside of the can and tape around it with duct tape. that whole assembly is like a shock absorber. the little can is actually important. the force that the pillow stuffing doesnt absorb is channeled through the body of the can, and the remaining momentum of the egg is cushioned by the stuffing inside the little can.
