What roles do chemical engineers play in the research and development of alternative energy?

I know that chem E's work on fuel cell development. I wondered what else is availble in alt energy research, and what classes should a chem E take to be prepared for the alternative energy field?

What is the essence of time?

I always think about the essence ande nature of time. how can it be curve in shape? and things like this.
For example in "The Univese In The Nutsell",Stephen Hawking's book, I have read that our time is like a pear! I wanna know what it means, how can the time be like a pear!
I need a logical, comprehensible answer for these questions.

Now that Pluto is no longer a planet, what mnemonic can you think of for kids to learn the order of planets?

What is love chemically? How can we define love with regard to the chemical processes concurrent with it?

What happens chemically when we fall in love? What are the chemical instigators and/or results of love particularly in brain and generally in body? What are the neuro-biological changes caused by love? Is love the result or the cause of such effects? Is there a satisfactory scientific answer to this "chicken or egg the first" kind of dilemma? Can we master the processes caused by love or are we helpless against them? I have fallen in love recently and there are incredible changes in my sleep cycle and many other biological rhythyms.Are we the unsuspecting victims of evolution/nature when we fall in love or do we consciously choose to fall in love? Are we the masters or the puppets?

Can I see the momentum distribution of electrons in a carbon nanotube using electron energy loss spectroscopy?

EELS of single-walled carbon nanotubes has been done by several groups but nobody has studied spectroscopy of a nanotube carrying a current. If I do momentum-resolved EELS on a nanotube while I apply a current across it, look at the sigma-to-pi peak and compare the parallel and anti-parallel DOS, will I be able to see the effect of the current?
