Definately it would be kept secret just as that area 55 in the Nevad desert where there is meant to be a captured UFO and aliens. But with the internet it wouldnt be long before the "secret" of an asteroid large enough to cause ww havoc would be out. At least we wouldnt have to keep hearing about Kate Moss and the Beckhams anymore.

If you were one of the world's great leaders and you knew the world was about to end, would you honestly care if people knew about it? So what if people panic, everyone's going to die anyway. I'd rather be killed in a doomsday riot than by an asteroid.

It's would not be a good idea to let that out. People would go nuts. Kids would start having sex from fear of dieing a virgin. Fat people would start eating cakes and pies uncontrollably. Pastors would gather their congregations, and they would all be going door to door trying to get people to accept their savior. Gangsters would be robbing all the stores & killing people for the fun of it. And all the people who had bomb shelters would be hording up everything nonperishable & all the generaters. Everyone would say F*CK work and go feel their cars up with gas and drive off without paying......

It is Pluto getting its own back on us for demoting it to a Dwarf Planet. Or Bruce Willis will save the day. I would tell everyone so that they could all say their goodbyes, then call International Rescue.

Maybe, but it wouldn't work. There are WAY too many free-lance astronomers out there with huge telescopes in their backyards, capable of seeing things like that. The government (and those around the world) would not be able to silence them all. We would know.

Probably they'd try to, but someone would let the cat out of the bag. Probably no one would panic anyway.

if a astroid was heading for earth we should have the men in black talk to their monster friends and send all of us to one of their planets.
