If you think that evolutionists believe that people evolved from monkeys then you are mistaken. And even if you think its ridiculous, what evidence do you have to support your belief?

Humans and monkeys shared a common ancestor millions of years ago. We all belong to the same family of mammals called primates which share both genetic and physiological similarities.

However, given the way you stated your question, I doubt that an answer here will convince you otherwise.

Try studying modern evolution and seeing what it has to offer, rather than continuing misrepresent what is understood about human evolution. Maybe you are not doing it on purpose, but I wonder as many times as this question appears in Answers.

I don't understand why evolutionists and creationists can't accept that both of their theories might be true. It's entirely possible that an evolutionary 'big bang' event (or Nature, or an intelligent designer, or God) started the whole process with nothing more than a mass of matter, which eventually evolved into water and air, which spawned tiny little sea creatures (like tadpoles), which eventually left the oceans and walked on land, which evolved into 4-legged animals, which then became apes, which finally resulted in the 'creation' of Adam & Eve (or the homosapien species we know today, which is still evolving).
Evolutionists want to believe it all was a giant cosmic coincidence that accidentally formed all the complexities we see in nature today.
Creationists want to believe it was a divine force that created the world in a week.
What neither side wants to admit is that their inferior intelligence isn't capable of accepting the idea of omnipresence: that this universe has always existed, and always will - without a beginning and without end.
Our tiny little brains can't comprehend that, so we have to invent some human logic that says somehow this all had to be an incipient process. I don't believe it was; I believe our solar system and our universe was always here.
Science had to concoct some wild idea of "evolution" to justify its credibilty.
Religion had to fabricate the idea of a godlike creation to justify its belief system.
I believe all this came about over an infinitesimal period of time, inconceivable to our thought process. And I believe it will continue without end with humans "evolving" or being "created" in unique life forms adapatible into the environment in which they find themselves. Perhaps a hundred years from now humans will be "created" with a built-in gas mask to filter out pollutants so that they're able to breathe clean air. Who knows for sure? Maybe a hundred years from now a new species of carnivorous cat will "evolve", capable of living in the harshest of environments caused by the waste of our disposable society in the 21st century. Who really knows? -RKO-

Many people believe that the evolutionary process goes back far enough that all primates arose from a common ancestor. Obviously you do not, however I doubt you are a scientist, let alone a biologist, so you are not entitled to an opinion on the matter. You can have faith that humans did not "evolve from monkeys," but to say the idea is ridiculous when obviously you do not have enough knowledge to even ask the question intelligently is just stupid.

Of course it is much more logical to believe people were made from dirt by the Great PooBah in the sky!

No-one ever thought humans evolved from monkeys. Humans & monkeys evolved from a common ancestor. If you don't understand that or hold it as self-evident, you aren't paying attention!

Believing requires no evidence. There is supportive evidence that humans in fact evolve from another species. BUt we did not evolve from monkeys. please read up on it before you make judgement. Monkeys, apes and humans evolved from monkey-like ancestors that are now extinct. No one said it would be easy to understand but look at the amount of evidence pointing towards it aka fossil evidence.

Secondly, THEORY are not facts. Theory are made up to explain facts. So in fact, theory is a higher order than facts so if you want to disprove it, you gonna have to bring up evidence that disproves it.

Thirdly, theories are used to make predictions about other data. The statement " a higher power/designer made the world the way it is" is not science as there is no way to prove it and the statement itself does not allow any refuting.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. That a common misconception. The theory states that humans and the ape family had a common ancestor. Humans evolved in one direction and apes in another.

Yes, and it is ridiculous. Darwin stated that humans and apes have a common ancestor, not that humans evolved from apes. But the ignorant will continue with their chatter, which sounds much like monkey talk. Hmm...

No. No-one believes that humans evolved from monkeys.

No one believes that humans evolved from monkeys. Maybe you should try actually reading about it. What's ridiculous is people trying to make a case against something that they clearly know nothing about.

My dear...

Ridiculous is to believe in Adam and Eve.

In the fist place, people did not evolve from monkeys. What evolution says is that monkeys and humans evolved from the same ancestor. This ancestor is not around anymore.
What I can't understand is how can people believe in creationism when compared to evolution (a well researched and %99.999999999999999999999999999999 certain scientific fact). Evolution is so much more interesting, glorious and beautiful than what was made up in the bible.
Don't believe me? Research it, open your mind and release yourself of religious dogma. I know both sides, I know religion and I know science, can you say the same? I doubt it, because people who know science don't doubt evolution. Actually in the eyes of scientists and people who know and understand science, doubting evolution is pretty much the same as doubting gravity (which we probably know way less of).
