I take a cure of it and it’s written on the bottle to avoid any contact with these two materials, do you know why ?
I remember the use in the chemistry course of Thin Layer Chromatography. There was no problem for the silica gel to touch metal and glass, maybe because it was solid but even wet…
Thanks for your help.

As you know, buzz aldrin had a crazy reaction to the conspiracy theorists when asked if we really did go to the moon.

I just want people's intuitive thoughts on the matter - personally i feel there was a massive, intentional story built to make the US seem bigger and badder than it is.

kinda reminds me "oh yeah, that's why our country has such a huge deficit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQKxAqpjroo

also reminds me "oh yeah... we're in the us and the u.s. is ranked lower by only one other country in the world in terms of general science knowledge." yet we went to the moon first... ? yet nobody in the world has gone to the moon in like...a REALLY long time.

Steron, an Irish company, has today claimed they have invented a technology that produces free, clean, and constant energy. Supposing they are right, what impact do you think this would have on our world?

Here's my problem. I have learned that to convert a repeating decimal into a fraction requires these steps:

Example: to convert the repeating decimal .333333333...

First I let x=.333333333 (that's as many as my calculator can show)

Next I let n=the number of repeating numbers. In this case it's 1.

Then I multiply both sides of the equations x=.333333333 by 10^n or 10^1 (which equals 100)

So the second equation is now 100x=33.333333333

I then subtract the first equation from the second to get:
99x=33

I then divide the 99 to get 33/99 which equals 1/3.

But now if I use the same process to try to find say .416666666 (which is 5/12)
x=.41666666
n=1
multiply 10^1 to both sides to get
100x=41.66666666 subtract the first equation to get
99x=41.249999999
Neither of these numbers is divisible by 5 or 12! Why doesn't this formula work? What am I doing wrong. Please show examples where n=1 as well as n=more than 1.

Thank you.

Electromagnetic waves are shown as the charge (and magnetic fields) waving as a smooth sine curve. Is there experimental verification of such smooth sine curve?--or does it come out of the fact that maxwell equation derivation resembles a wave equation.

If an individual photon is moving (and not a train of photons) will the charge curve still be a smooth sine wave? If not what does it look like.

Have experiments with single photon been carried out to verify the shape of charge/magnetic waves for individual photons? Do they show a smooth curve or gaps??

I need to solve (r4 - r3) / (r3 -r2)

I do know all r1,r2,r3,r4 as a ratio of r1
i.e.
r2/r1=a
r3/r1=b
r4/r1=c

where a, b,c are known constants.
So how do I find the ratio (r4-r3) / (r3-r2)
Thanks
