We have two points at varying positions.
One is (7 , -2) and the other is (-3 , 1).
To find the distance of two points, we first take the difference between the two points i.e.
(7 , -2) – (-3 , 1) = (10 , -3)
Next, we use the formula for finding the distance betw. 2 points. Substituting into the equation with the ans attained above, which is,
√( (10)[square] + (-3)[square] ) = √(100 +9) units
= √(109) units
= 10.4 units (3.sf)
note: if the qn stated the units for the dist between the two points ie. cm, m, etc, then, you ought to replace the units with the correct units ie. 10.4 cm or 10.4 m.
also, if stated, correct ur ans to the correct significant figure or decimal place the question ask for. otherwise, it SHOULD be fine to just leave your ans to 3 s.f.

the distance on x coordinate is 7 - (-3) = 10
the distance on y coordinate is -2 - 1 = 3
10^2 + 3^2 = sqr root of 109

what are u trying to do here.
i mean this is a basic thin in cartesian geometry...
sqrt is suqare root
sqr is square
sqrt(sqr(7-(-3)) + sqr(-2-1))
= sqrt(sqr(10) + sqr(3))
= sqrt(100+9)
= sqrt(109)
=~ 10.44 units of whatever 7,-2,-3 and 1 represent

Use the area formula = sq. root { (x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - Y1)^2} So, the area between (-a million, 7) and (3,2) = sq. root { (3 +a million)^2 + (2 - 7)^2} = sq. root { (4)^2 + (-5)^2} = sq. root (16 + 25) = sq. root (40-one)
