As you know, buzz aldrin had a crazy reaction to the conspiracy theorists when asked if we really did go to the moon.

I just want people's intuitive thoughts on the matter - personally i feel there was a massive, intentional story built to make the US seem bigger and badder than it is.

kinda reminds me "oh yeah, that's why our country has such a huge deficit.

P.S. - then WHY ALL THE MYSTERY FROM NASA? this is a legit question and requires more thought because all NASA had to do was release more evidence. think about it, more evidence to the people leaves less room for questioning, especially in times like these, when pseudo-science really kicks in to high gear.

Looks like the 1st two respondants are christians, I hope there are more people interested in this topic as I am.

Remember- more evidence. More results from the studies, and MOST importantly, why have we NOT returned to the moon such a long time? Don't answer that, as this will be the answer to my next question. I'd rather give out 10 than start a squabble.

My reaction is that anyone who believes this is completely nonsensical and truly sad.

And there is an easy way to prove that the moon landings happened. Remember that we were in the middle of the Space Race and the Cold War with the Russians. If there was any thought in their monds that the event was faked they wuld have put out any evidence they had, however remote or obscure, to back up their claim.

The fact is that the video and audio feed from the moon provids irrefutable evidence that the landings took place. Any technological power like the Russians could tell where the transmission was coming from. Of course, the next line of reasoning for a conspiracy buff is that the video and audio feeds were faked as well, that a probe was sent up a few weeks before Apollo 11, or was even on Apollo 11, to fake those transmissions. For these people, I tell them to get buy the next season of 'The X-Files' on DVD, because for them there will be no satisfying them.

Eventually, we will go back to the moon. And when we do there will be more pictures, as well as more audio and video transmissions from the Moon. And 99% of the people will believe the irrefutable evidence. And there will be 1% of the people that will still say we haven't been there. But remember, there are still people who think the earth is flat,a nd there always will be.

I am quite sure that humans have gone to the moon. I suppose that, short of sending them there, there's no way to prove to the skeptics that the moon landings were legit. Really, its almost offensive to the people who have dedicated their whole lives to the space program, for people to suggest that they're lying. But hey, its their right to question things. I think we went to the moon. I've read numerous books on the subject, been to KSC many times (the visitor center, and the secure areas), talked to many people involved in the space program, heard lectures by well known figures in the space program, and done extensive research on the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs, and never once have I gotten the impression it was a hoax. But that's just me. You can believe what you want. :)

You asked this twice. Please read my excellent and honest answer in the other one. (I don't feel like typing it twice.) When you see the truth and logic of my comments you can pick me as the winner in here too, so I can get double the credit. (I deserve it.)
