i'm a little confused. i don't know which would be better. i'm so scared of having needles and cesarian that i'm thinking about adoption. i know this wouldn't be easy and that it would take a long time. i just need some advice. i know that it'll be hard for me to get pregnant anyway as my cycles are approx 90 days long.

Hi, everyone. I just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant with my first child. I'm really excited, however, a friend told me something that scared me. She said that her doctor said that first pregnancies are much more likely to miscarry. She went on to say that first pregnancies are usually just to get the uterus prepared for the "real pregnancy" (her words, NOT mine). Has anyone else heard this from a medical professional? I know every pregnancy has a risk of miscarriage, but I've never heard that the first is any more likely than any subsequent pregnancy. I'm hurt that she would suggest that the baby I'm carrying is nothing more than a "trial" baby to get my body prepared for the "real" one. What do you all think about this?

About six years ago I weighed 200lbs. I am now 132lb- 5 2". I am now six weeks pregnant and am so scared of putting on the pound again. I have been watching what I eat and drinking lots of water. I'd some kind of road map I can follow. Any suggestions?

Is it normal to miss a period (4-5) day late and be pregnant but feel no symptoms, except maybe slight slight tenderness in your nipples? I'm so confused, could I be pregnant?!

i dont know how i can tell my parents.....i think im pregnant because my stomach is getting bigger and i have aches and it's just BAD!!!i was with my boyfriend and we kinda did somethings and im scared now....i told him i thought i was pregnant and he said he would be 100% supportive being a father and he's 14 also.He doesn't even talk to me as much as he did before we did what we did and it was both our first time.I dont know what to do!!!

I had sex Feb 23 and we didn't use a condom. I don't know if he ejaculated INSIDE of me, but I know he ejaculated ON my vagina. Feb 23 was the day I was supposed to get my period, and here it is March 8 and still haven't gotten one. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow with my mom, can I get a pregnancy test without her knowing? Am I pregnant?

I have been on Yahoo Answers for awhile and I always come across women who have questions about labor. The first thing out of there mouth is how they plan on getting an epidural. When I come on here I often ask, but why not try it natural? I often get panned for this---why?

I am not some natural childbirth thumping kind of person but I often feel mothers to be sell themselves short by not trying to go naturally or with minimum pain medication. Whenever I hear a pregnant women its OH I am getting an epidural, no way I am going through the pain......Most women don't even give it a second thought like an epidural just comes with the package.

I know alot of has changed since the "stone ages" of giving birth without pain medication but why do women just immediatly shut down the possibility they may be able to do it? I was 28 when I had my first child and was scared of labor and the pain. But for me I went in thinking maybe I could do it.

Dehydration possibly? Signs of labor? Friends have said this close to D-Day your body breaks down everything much faster in preperation for birth. Any advice would be appreciated.

My mom will be devastated with me if she found out I was pregnant. I don't know for sure if I am yet, but I don't remember getting a period in February, and here it is March and still no period. I am in community college and I was planning on transfering to a university, but how can I do that with a baby on the way? How should I break it to my mom if I am? I am looking for a full-time job so she won't have to help me as much, but even I am devastated! What should I do? HELP!

now she weighs 6lbs 8 oz. I am not diabetic and they are not sure why she is so big. What do they normally do in a sitiuation like this. Just wait and see or will they induce labor?? Just wondering if anyone else had been through this.

Does the Dr, encourage termination?. Do all obstetricians perform abortions or do they refer ppl to an abortion clinic. I am not in this situation, my baby is healthy and I do not believe in abortion, but I am curious....serious answers only.

i just found out i may have endometriosis. I am 22 and have 2 children 3 and 3 months. My husband and I do not want anymore children right now, but i always wanted 3 babies and wanted to get pregnant after i finished school and was stable in a real good job. If i had any chance of having a baby it would be soon but my hubby doesn't want to, i dont really want to now but I am petrified of not being able to have that option for the future. Its so scary and upsetting, im terrified of having a sugrery that would decide for me of wether or not i can have children, and i wish my husband would feel differently but i know where he is comming from. Any advice or ideas on what i should do?

Okay; I'm 18 years old and have had irregular periods since I was in the 7th grade. i recently was put on birth control and maybe like two weeks after taking it, my ex-boyfriend didn't pull out. Well, I continued to take my birth control && my Provera (which the doctor put me on to help start my period.) About the next month, I had a really bad period. I had bright red blood && a lot of clots! I saturated probably two pads in an hour! The cramps were unbearable! They were really bad cramps. Everytime I would sit down && then stand up, blood gushed out of me. A friend of mine told me that I had a miscarriage because me continuing to take my birth control killed the baby. Can you help me? Does birth control really kill the baby if your pregnant? Thanks!

And lots of smokers don't find out they are pregnant until 2 months later and they come out with healthy babies. When is a good time to quit?

never any blood, spotted for 5 days, never really touched the panty liner, only faint pink when I used the bathroom, never any blood in the toilet. started one day before period was supposed to start, mild cramping for 1 week prior, and throughout off and on maybe 2-4 times a day. no symptoms of period or pregnancy. I have had my periods since I was 12 and now I am almost 28. I always had irregular cycles, but I never missed a month without bleeding. I am not stressed or anything, no work out, no change in my diet. this so called period was from 3/2-3/6, and a certain times of the day there was nothing there, and me and my husband had sex twice, and each time there was no blood on him or in me. usually if we have sex while I have light bleeding, bad cramps and heavy bleeding would follow, but not now. I have already taken a few hpt but all were neg. should I wait until next AF, or wait 1 week. where you pregnant or did the next AF resume? experinces please.

ok I'm 31 weeks prego and for the past 2 days I've had alot of discharge it's clear and it itches real bad it doesn't smell either so I'm not sure whether I have an infection or not I'm waiting to see what the nurse says their out to lunch but this drainage and itching is driving me crazy I haven't had sex or anything in over a week so does anyone know what this could be or what can I do to relieve this feeling

C section question!!?
Im due August 7th,
I had both my daughters natural,
But with this pregnacy it will considered high risk due to my blood pressure and other reasons.
I was told I will have to get a C-Section...
Now here is my question (basiclly for mothers who had C-Sections before)

How does the Delivery accure?
Lets say Im at home and I start to feel contractions, I would go to the hospital and they would determain how far Im dialated...
Do they Immediately send me in for C-Section or do I have to wait until im fully dialated to have the C-Section??? I dont understand how it works.

The reason for me asking is because ( lol)
I dont want to go through the painfull contractions....

I found out for sure that I am pregnant with my second baby this morning and I'm having some cramping (which I'm sure is normal) but I starting feeling queasy and just flat out irritated with everything after I found out this morning. I was feeling queasy on and off this whole week. I was just wondering if any other pregnant women out there just are irritated with every little thing rather than being on cloud nine? What can I do to help with the light cramping?

I still havent started yet.... should I wait a little while longer before I go to see a doctor? I have taken preg. test which have came back negative... A clear blue easy digital and a dollar store brand one... I dont know what Is going on with me, I dont feel pregnant...obviously im not the tests said so. Im not sick, stressed, not breast feeding, I have a 2 year old and nine month old... I am regular as clock work, is there something bad that could be causing this??? I am only five weeks pregnant. I have gone up to bra sizes. I tried to put my kaki shorts on and they wouldn't button. I have been eating very healthy and drinking plenty of water. I also have gained four pounds. I think some of that is my chest. I didn't think that happened so soon. I am feeling depressed.

I'll be starting maternity leave in about 8 weeks or less. I'll be taking about 10 weeks off. We'll be okay financially but it will be tight. Does anyone know of any financial resources for maternity leave? We don't qualify for any type of government assistance so that counts Family First and W.I.C. out. Also, does anyone know where I can get free samples of formula, diapers, etc? Thanks!
