Pregnancy - March 2007

I work in a housing association for young people who have been kicked out of home or taken out of care. One girl I am helping is having sex with her B friend without any form of contreception. I have spoken to her about this, and she is fully aware of the risk she is undertaking. I cant help feeling that its a sad state of affairs when unhappy pe

She says she does not want to get pregnent but if she did she will keep the baby.All her actions scream out that she wants a baby. Intutivly I feel she wants a baby because it seems easier for her to look after a baby then to look after herself.
I really care about this girl and want her to know that she can do so much before she decides to have babys. I know she wants somthing for unconditional love - but I really feel she is avoiding being realistic about the unevitble.
She is not in a stable relationship and i dont think she has any idea how difficult it is to bring up children. Or should I just allow her to make her own choices?

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and slowly getting to my date. 4/25/07. Although I realize this is just an estimation and the baby could come anytime in April.
I am a first time mommy and I am scared to death to have this baby. I'm excited but very scared. Just was wondering if other mommy's had any good advice to give? I need all the advice and help I can get.
My hubby is also in the military and as soon as the baby is born I will be moving to be with him. So it will be hard to be away from my family and friends. Thanks for your advice. :)

im 32weeks+2days pregnant. my first child is 5 yrs old..he was born by emergency C-section because i had pre-eclampsia..
i went for my routine check up with midwife yesterday and she found 'protiene' in my urine sample. she has sent it off for tests.. im not scared that it may come back pre-eclampsia.. what happens if it is? the first time they didnt find i had it till 39 weeks at the hospital and i passed out 2 times..midwife wont tell me much.. plus also they want me to go naturally this time.. and people are freaking me out by saying that when they did it their scares weeped and split..sick i know.. i have asked for appointments to those closes where they teach u how to breath etc during labour only to b told i wont b offered them this time coz i have had 1 child *even if i didnt have it naturally* so im really scared bout labour!!.. help!

im 19 weeks pregnant. for 3 days i had a really uncomfortable pain in my back at my right kidney. i went to the doctor and he said i had a kidney infection and he gave me painkillers and antibiotics.

its sort of worried me, is this common in pregnancy and have any of you experienced it?

What are some of the things you did to ease nausea/quesiness when you were pregnant? I realize everyone is different, but I'm just looking for ideas to give my wife. So far, it's been mild, but she is only 5 weeks.

Hi,

I am 16 weeks pregnant and got my triple test results today. Acc. to the report, the calculated risk for Trisomy 21 is below the cut off which represents a low risk. Secondly, the calculated risk for Trisomy 18 is 1:8850 and the HCG level is 9576.99 which is low. Please tell me if this means anything -ve since my doctor refused to interpret the results over the phone and I dont meet her till another 2 weeks. Please advice, i am nervous.

I got a positive at 12 dpo and anothe one at 14 dpo (today). Today was my scheduled day for my period, got up this morning and Im not really on my period persay, usually I soak through a tampon in 2 hours on my first day but I am spotting I guess you would say, I have on a pantyliner w/nothing on it but everytime I wipe I get pink blood. Please tell me this is normal!! Anyone else experience this? I know, a little to much info just trying to figure this out.

I am undorsure if i am prego its only been a couple days since i may have concieved. I know you can take a hpt or blood test. I plan on it. but anyways usually the day after i have sex i feel a little bloated but this time i felt that but a little belly pain and still have it today and it has been 3 days cept the pain moved down towards my right ovary and it feel funny at my uterus. I know i spotted the day that we had sex and the next so i am confused on what is going on. Cuase this is not the first time i had sex when i spotted or had a period. Also i can't go by the did you have your period symptom because i don't normally have them.........but has anyone else experience this??

I am 17 days late today and I have taken 3 PT. The first was invalid and the other 2 were neg-I took them on my 14th day being late . Although they were really cheap ones. I thought when you were more than a week late or so the cheap ones could detect the hormone. in the past if I was ever late, as soon as I would take the PT and got neg. I would start almost immed or that evening so I know that nerves can be a factor when your late. I am on a 30-32 day cycle. But I have never just skipped an entire month. I have a 5yr old and when I was preg w/him the test came back pos. immed. and 1 yr ago I had a miscarriage and the test came back pos. immed. then too. I feel like I am starting to ovulate again. I don't know what to think either I am preg. or something is wrong w/me medically. Should I be worried? And yes I have had unprotected sex with my hubby.

I am 3 months pregnant. I am pretty small, I am 5'3" and weigh 105lbs... My doctor said its normal to gain only about 3 pounds during the 1st Trimester, but then again everyone is different. I put on 5 lbs on puprose so I was a bit more "healthy" and able to handle the morning sickness and stuff. So, I'm 110 and thats just fine with me and its been steady at that. It's the look I'm worried about... People say they look "bloated and stuff" but I am starting to wonder if I am actually showing (because it wrinkles when I sit like 2 small rollies of fat, yuck you know??) because I thought it would be more of a hard little bump. Or is it my recent cravings and eating that is showing? How can I tell if I need to stop eating what I crave so much or if most women who show have it act like fat when they sit and stuff... What did everyone elses look like? Any stories, etc would be great...

my last period was the last week of january. i had nothing whole month of february and tested myself march 7 at docs but it was negative pregnancy and nothing worng with prolactin. doc said it was stress causing my period delay. i was all the week with nausea.
yesterday i did a hpt it was negative. but i had weird discharge. one time went i went to the bathroom and wiped there was clear discharge with a streak of blood in it. after i saw that i started getting a crampy feeling down there and later in the evening had creamy pink discharge on tissue. i also have been feeling the need to pee a lot but when i go hardly pee at all and still have theat need to pee feeling.

im thinking it might be impantation?

or af is coming soon? what do you think?

so far today i had only once instance of a tiny bit of pink discharge, mostly i feel wet, but on inspection i am dry down there, its only if i insert a finger that i get some discharge. usually its just creamy very light yellow/white

I hate to be too graphic but I am 18 weeks along and with my 1st pregnacy never experinced hemroids. I am sure that I have internal hemroids now b/c I am getting blood when I have to strain to go to the bathroom. That is the only time too. So I know it's not something more serious. Any suggestions for what I can do to make this go away? I am getting a few wipes of bright red blood if I have to go and hold it in or am constipated. Serious answers only so side comments. This is embarrasing enough.

Hi,
I am 20 years old and have been on the contraceptive pill for 3 years. I have always had perfect timed periods during my 7 day breaks. Though this time I have had a 7 day break and not come on my period, I have not missed a pill apart from in the middle of my back I was sick which may of cancled the pill out slightly. I have been having intercourse with my Partner almoast every other day through out the month.

Is it likley that I could of got caught due to me being sick half way during the month?? I did do a test yesterday though is showed a neg response.

Please advise ASAP as this has never happend before. Thanks

Has anyone else on Answers had a baby at home? If so, what made you choose to have your baby at home instead of in hospital? Has anyone planned a home birth but ended up giving birth in hospital? If so, why and how did you feel afterward? Anyone who has had a baby in hospital, did you consider having a home birth, and if so why did you decide against it? Anyone who planned a hospital birth all along, why did you not consider birthing at home as an option?

Also is there anyone out there who is really pro-home birth or pro-hospital birth and if so, why do you feel so strongly one way or the other?

Sorry for the multi-faceted questions, basically I'm just after all points of view.

I'm 23 weeks with a definite BABY BOY :). Sometimes he kicks really high, like right under my belly button and that is awesome when he does that cause I can watch him kick. But, lately he must be turned and is kicking really, really low. Like right on the line of my pubic hairs (sorry). Why is he so low and will he turn?
