Yes its common for some woman and nothing to be worried about really.
I had a UTI when I was 7-8 weeks and the doctor gave me some special antibiotics that are safe to take while pregnant.
It is a little scary at first but the doctors know what their doing and wouldnt give you anything that could be harmful for the baby.
Just relax and take your pills and see the doctor after your out of pills to make sure that its gone.

Ha, funny you should ask this now. I was in the hospital with a kidney stone just this weekend. The only other time I've had a stone was with my last pregnancy. The urologist explained that during pregnancy, the baby can put pressure on and actually kink off a ureter, which can lead to infection. That's not what caused my stone, but still. Best of luck to you. Hope you don't have any repeats!

Yes, I believe UTI's are extremely common during pregnancy for some reason (and a kidney infection is a UTI in it's extreme). I had a UTI 3 times, and the third time they ended up putting me on Macrobid up until I delivered to decrease the chance of infection for the baby.
I suggest you drink PLENTY of cranberry juice and water, and use the restroom as much as possible, and practice good hygiene (wipe front to back) if you don't want to be on antibiotics until your due date.
Good Luck.

Yes it is farely common in pregnancy....with each of mine I had at least two UTI's. Just make sure to finish all antibiotics cause if the infection does not clear it can cause premature labor and problems with the baby.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
