when a woman is pregnant, they measure from the pelvic bone to the belly button, how do you transfer inches into weeks to find out how far along they are?

(For the past 2 weeks) ( the first week i was only at 1 cm and 50% effaced) I am 2cm dialated and 80% effaced and minus 2 in station, i was just wondering how much longer do i have, i have been having contractions, last night i went to the hospital and they told me that i was in early labor, what do i need to do in order to make myself go into active labor, i walk every day alot, some people say that there is an herbal tea that you can drink to make the contractions come, if anyone knows what kind of tea that is please let me know!!! I need her OUT!!! thanks

when you have a c section? After I had mine my sister in law made me feel lousy. My dog had puppies about a month after and she said 'see she didn't need any pain relief'!!! comparing me to a dog! I had to have one after 8 hours because my baby got stuck. I had an epidural and my sister in law is making out like I'm a wuss. They can hardly rip my stomach open while I had no pain relief, I'd die of shock! She had two 9lb babies and just plopped them out with no pain relief or stitches...I don't wanna think of what she's like down there! lol...I do feel like a failure now, do you feel the same after having one?

this morning i went to the dr and he told me that there was protein found in my urine,i have high blood pressure, i have gained 4pds in one week, and i need to rest in bed and not do anything, I have to drink lots and lots of water. If i don't then he will put me in the hospital for my last month. Has anyone else gone through this???This just sounds scarey to me.

And she checked my cervix to see if I was dilated ( by the way not fun not fun at all and it should have a law against OBGYN's having fingernails) And she said I was 55% effaced and 1cm dilated which according to a lot of people is good but it left me somewhat confused. I checked my pregnancy book no info and tried looking it up and way to many things of personal stories to go through. So any advice would be great

I started off with pethidine then gas n air more pethidine and more gas n air and then the epidrual. Which did help alot but not as much as i thought.

My friend is giving birth to her 2nd child and they are inducing her.
Someone told her it hurts when they break your water. Is that true?
Mine broke on it's own and I didn't feel anything so I don't know why it would hurt?

I am curious when I will go into labor. I lost the mucous plug and bloody show at 36 weeks. And have had braxton hicks every since. Now i have horrible horrible horrible back pain lately and the braxton hicks make me scream sometimes. the doctor said it should happen this week but it seems like it never will. I had my initial Glucose screening at 25wks which showed my levels were elevated. I then had the 3-hour Glucose screening a week later. I just found out that my levels for all three tests taken during the 3-hour were within normal range. I asked if I should remain on a restricted diet and was advised it is not necessary.

If my levels were fine for my 3-hour screening do I have Gestational Diabetes or could it have been a false alarm? Any idea why my levels in my first screening would've been elevated?

im 18 and pregnant for the first time, suprisingly with triplets. my partner is very supportive and has poposed to me (on New Years Eve 2006) and my mother and father are also really supportive. i am really scared about giving birth and being a mum. how could this happen? how could I be having triplets. I have heard you shouldn't tan(tanning bed) while pregnant because of the Rays, but I was wondering if anyone heard that it is okay to tan while pregant? I am going to ask my doctor on my next visit because I assumed you couldn't. But I was reading info on the Tan Co.'s website and it says is is safe to while pregnant, w/ your doctor's consent they will let you. So is it safe or isnt it?
