That would be up to your doctor to decide but if you are high risk then I would ask.

Depends on why you are "high risk". If you're ultra high risk, your doctor may not even want you to go into labor and have a c-section planned. It's up to your doctor if you can be induced, ask him/her. Just remember that the weight that you've been given is NOT exact, just an estimate. A good friend of mine had an u/s the day before she was induced and they said her baby was 10 lbs, he was 7 lbs! If you really want to know, ask your doctor but if your question is: will my baby be okay? The answer is most likely yes, but most drs don't induce until 38- 38 1/2 weeks unless there's a lifethreatening issue.

It's definately possible even if the baby is doing fine because they wouldn't want to risk something happening to the baby. I was high risk different reasons though and was induced at 37 weeks even though he was perfectly fine. I had a high volume of protein in my urine and a couple of high blood pressures but not constant high blood pressure. They couldn't figure out if I had preeclampsia or a underlying kidney problem. Now that I've had my baby I'm in the process of following up with a kidney doctor. Because I still have the protein.

It's totally up to your doctor but just keep in mind it could be possible. I sometimes look back and wonder why they did if he was doing just fine and all I was doing was spilling protein. Doctors do this to protect themselves sometimes I think.

You should ask your doctor. At 37 weeks you are considered full term : )! And it sounds like the baby is a good normal size already. Especially if you are a high risk pregnancy you doctor should be fine with it. I am almost 37 weeks also and because of my pregnancy as well will be induced next week. My ultrasound showed that the baby was at least 6 1/2 pounds at 35 weeks. Good luck and hoping you will deliver soon!

Only your doctor can answer that......size isn't the only issue, lungs and body function are also a question.

Induction does not always work and it is VERY stressful on mommy and baby. They tried to induce my son at 40 weeks and 4 days, it didn't work and he showed signs of distress.....he flatlined twice, but scored an 8/9 on the APGAR.

Induction is not something I'd do unless I had no choice. You and the baby get no breaks between contractions and there is a high rate of C-Sections (which my son was).

i'm so sorry you're having do many annoying situations throughout your being pregnant. it is undesirable adequate to handle all those incidents, and then to have the loopy being pregnant hormone component happening on the comparable time makes it in basic terms approximately insufferable. i attempted for 8 years to get pregnant, and it took 3 IVFs yet i'm now 34 weeks besides. I nerve-racking the completed first 2 trimesters because of the fact it had in basic terms taken so long to get pregnant and that i grow to be so frightened of miscarriage. Then, while i began out to sit down down back at 7 months, i found out my mom has incurable maximum cancers. now and lower back I in basic terms desire for a touch peace and a few day without work from all of this craziness and rigidity. do exactly no longer forget that your toddler might desire to be born right this moment and it would be large. it would desire a touch NICU time, yet you have carried out an outstanding interest donning it and bringing it to the component of viablility. a chum these days had her toddler at 35 weeks and he or she did no longer even ought to pass to the NICU and went abode after the regular 2 night stay. i'm chuffed you would be triggered so which you would be able to finally carry the toddler on your hands and end aggravating a touch. As a part question, do you ever worry you won't love your toddler as much as you will possibly have considering you associate her with such annoying situations? now and lower back I do, considering she is my first and that i do no longer probable comprehend how that's going to experience to have a toddler. everybody says that as quickly as I see her, all of those unhappy emotions will soften away, yet i assume I nevertheless challenge.

38 weeks is considered full term. If you have diabetes...they will probably induce early as your diabetes will cause the baby to get bigger. If your blood pressure is high...that's another reason to induce early...especially if the baby already weight 7lbs 2 oz.

At 37 weeks, the baby should have no problem, but I'm sur if your doctor was worried he would have suggested an induction alreasy. I know it's hard, (my last child was very high risk) but try to relax and not worry. The stress of worrying is more harmful than continuing the pregnancy. Trust your doctor and try to stay positive.Good luck and God Bless.

I have seen physicians induce patients in the similar situation as yours when they were about 37 weeks.
It really is based on whether you have been in good control of your diabetes and just how high your blood pressures are.

sure you can, but that is all up to your doctor. Imductions don't always mean that the baby will coem out. As long as the baby has enough water and is not in distress you might as well wait. I was induced with my first daughter and I wound up having a c-section because she was not ready and i was not progressing enough. She was also two days late. I had an elective c-sect with second daughter and she was one day late. Just try to be patient, i know it's hard but in the end it will be worth it, and your baby will be fine.
