You should not play ANY contact sports while pregnant. Same reason you should take caution when walking up and down stairs... you DONT want to have a hard fall. You could go into early labor or miscarry. Please don't go tubing!

Sorry, nope. Too big a risk of injury. Any activity where you may be jostled, bumped, fall, or crash is too risky when pregnant. Sledding down little hills that toddlers and babies can handle is about as much as you should do. Take the time of pregnancy to explore things you haven't had a chance to try like a new museum or that shop you've been meaning to check out. It's great to be active but you have to be safe. Time for walking, swimming etc. Don't hide inside though, don your winter wear and walk through the snow, make a snow man and a few snow angels.
Have fun and be safe

At first I was inclined to agree with "As long as you stick to smaller hills I don't see the problem" -- the baby is pretty nicely cushioned -- but.

The thing I'd worry about would not be so much injury to the fetus but to yourself. Tobogganing and tailbone injuries seem to go hand in hand, and I was on a frightening amount of high-test painkillers for a few months after smashing my coccyx once. I would've had a miserable time without them, couldn't move well with the injury, and -- well, pregnant and not on the painkillers, it would've been unthinkable.

So, yeah, accidents happen everywhere; the knee-jerk "NO!" to these sorts of questions seems a bit... Well, nobody's saying "Never take showers while pregnant -- you could easily fall!" despite the risk there, so if you know the hill well and...yeah...but, I think in this case, you should worry about _yourself_. Friends of mine have broken bones on hills. Any sort of injury, even if harmless to the pregnancy, would be made infinitely worse by being pregnant.

Just stuff to think about.

i for my section do no longer see what the wear and tear of snow tubing is. i think of your being a splash too over keeping.the probabilities of a freak accident occurring together as snow tubing are a techniques below probable then the probabilities of a accident together as driving. Pregnant people nonetheless want some thrill too now.

I wouldn't risk it if you are going down steep slopes or if there is any chance of you running into someone/something and sustaining trauma. You would probably be fine, but in the off chance you took a hard spill... I just wouldn't risk it.

Sheesh. You still get in a car don't you? Sure accidents happen. Just try to keep your speed reasonable and use your best judgement. If other people aren't acting safe leave.
