I am looking for info. about pregnancy after a tubal. i had my tubes tied 5 years ago and i am now 38 days late. just wondering what i should do? should i take a test or what? any help would be useful.

I'd take a test, I know of one person who did.
You didn't mention how old you are? Could you be starting menopause.
If you aren't pregnant you could have a hormonal imbalance or a thyroid problem. You could be starting menopause, or you could have jsut skipped a period!

Yes, me! I had 4 kids so had my tubes tied after the 4th. Fourteen months later I got pregnant. There was a bug going around and as I was as sick as a dog for longer than anyone else with this bug I went to the doctor and was told that I was pregnant. The pregnancy was normal, I had no trouble or problems at all. My daughter is now 17. After she was born my husband went in to get snipped and while he was in hospital the nurse told him that she got pregnant after her husbant was done!!
I was only 32 at the time.
It could depend on your age but if it was me I'd go see the doctor, I wouldn't rely on a home testing thing. You need to know, maybe there is another reason.

I know someone who had her tubes tied many many years ago and then had a tubal pregnancy and almost died!! The problem with a tubal ligation is that the egg & sperm can meet but they can't get to the uterus to implant and can implant in the tube (hence the tubal pregnancy warning). So, yes it's very possible for you to be pregnant and hopefully it wouldn't be a tubal pregnancy.

Yes, my mother got pregnant with me after she got her tubes tied. I ruptured her uterus, but I dont know if thats the case with every pregnancy after you get your tubes tied. I would take a test, and even if comes out negative I would go to the doctor just to make sure everything is fine.

My sis had a tubal and found out she was pregnant 6yrs later! She went to her doctor and took a blood test. Not sure what they did though, sorry wish I knew.

Go out and get a test! My mother ended up pregnant after having a tubaligation, and it ended up being an ectopic pregnancy, which is very dangerous for the mother. Please get it checked out!

my aunt had a tubligation and was on all kinds of medicine for corpral tunal syndrome and had surgery in her arms and like i said had her tubes cut and tied.... my little cousin has been leading a healthy and very intellegant life for 6 yrs now. so yea,.... i know someone that happened too. get a dr appt.
